I can't believe Roger Goodell has the power to make this man lose millions of dollars.

It's disgusting.

What did Goodell do exactly? It was the owners and gms who didn't want to take a chance on him. You could blame BRPD as well. But I don't understand Goodell. Guess he's an easy scapegoat

The fact that Danny McCray has made a career in the NFL still blows my mind.

I'm happy for him, but shocked. I cursed his name many times while he was playing for the Tigers.

Really? It was the owners? Because if the BRPD was saying the ENTIRE time he was NOT a suspect; as an owner; I would have drafted him. Especially, if no one had drafted him already. Any round. Any day.

As an owner.

Hindsight is 20/20. With media jumping all over scandals like this lately it would have been a hard decision to make. However if he proves it on the field, he'll get his due

If he hadn't been drafted by the 3rd round he let everyone know he wouldn't sign and they'd waste a pick...

Watching now. Collins is man-handling his guy each play.
Serious pancake block on a LB fired him up.
Soooo happy he's on the field.

3rd round? The dude was protected top 15. There was more behind it than going in the 3rd.

BRPD listed him as a person of interest. That's what they do until they have enough information to name him as a suspect. Owners would have been taking a big chance.

Let's say I'm an owner, and it's my turn to draft in round one, LC is next on my board and rated 90/100, and the next guy is rated 89/100. I multiply 90 times the odds of LC getting cleared, say 85%. That gives me a 77/100 for LC, and moves him down from the 15th pick to about the 60th pick.

Once he moves down that far it makes no sense for him to get drafted. He probably told teams he wouldn't sign if drafted too low. Why? Because he'd rather sign a short term free agent contract and get to his second contract quicker. If LC stays healthy he'll kill the second contract.

I do believe that Goodell probably put pressure on teams not to draft him. If they had, the media would have piled onto the NFL as misgynists narrative. And when LC was eventually cleared the story would have died quietly.

Which is my exact point.

If Goodell put any amount of pressure on the teams; it was wrong.

The night of the draft; it was flashed along the bottom of the screen that he was not a suspect.

He cost him millions of dollars in rookie money. The 3rd round is bogus; he signed with Dallas as an UFA.
