La'el Collins attorney: "In my mind, he's been cleared from the beginning." Collins did not say anything during walk from meeting to car.

LCs immediate reaction is what I can't get past. I know it's smart to get a lawyer for official questioning. But when your phone rings and a friend if yours is dead, you stop everything and help the police, IF you are innocent of any wrongdoing, imho.
Did her mom lawyer up? The witness? Her beat friend? Sister? Not that I know of.

I get what you are saying, but her mom, best friend, and sister weren't waiting to be drafted and they didn't stand to lose millions of dollars. It was absolutely the right thing for him to lawyer up, even if his lawyer was simply there to tell him when to answer questions.

LSUBeatTweet: La'el Collins interview with BR Police ends. But attorney Jim Boren does not say if he has been ruled out as a future suspect in murder.

had he flown into BR early last week and cleared himself, he would have been drafted in the 1st round IMO.

Wrong, if he had flown back last Saturday or Sunday before the draft then that information would have gotten out and linked him to the murder just the same. His stock would have plummeted just the same.

So this meeting cleared nothing up. BRPD has to send a statement clearing LC of any involvement or LC still not getting NFL

Isn't it his story that he had no communication with the victim since September? I mean, if I had no contact with a casual acquaintance/brief girlfriend/one-night stand for 7 months, my first instincts when contacted by police about their death would be, "Sorry, I haven't communicated with them since September. I don't have any information to offer." If they continued to want to question me after that, I absolutely would lawyer up.

Maybe he was involved in the murder. Maybe he was the father of that child. But maybe she was just a one-off fling. I don't think most people would be too broken up about the death of a one-night stand. Especially in the week leading up to the biggest moment of their career.

so, his lawyer doesn't even know the whole story?

No, and he shouldn't be expected to. The police are writing the narrative, not La'el.

I doubt the police would walk out of the meeting and announce what happened.

Collins has never been considered a suspect in the shooing death of Brittney Mills. No suspects in her death yet.

So there are currently no suspects, so he obviously can't be one, but he's the one getting what appears to be much of the police's attention.

None of us have inside information of this, but I have a hard time believing than anyone can't see that he's at the very least on their radar for this. Don't know if anything will materialize, but to pretend that they were just interviewing him like they would interview the neighbors to see if they saw or heard anything is absurd.

Well one of the posters on here claimed that with the information he has heard he would be surprised if LC is not put in cuffs right after his interview.

I do have more expensive knowledge of what general tactics investigators use and also gowbthey gather info before they speak to a suspect. LC is absolutely a suspect. That I know.

Responses to questions have to be vetted and electronics have to be checked, this will take weeks.

Because he's the only one we know about. I'm sure police have met with multiple people by now, but Collins is the only one people care about.

No, he's the only famous person to get any of the police's attention, making it seem like he's getting the most attention.
