I don't remember the exact quote by May but when I heard it I thought he was saying that unlike other schools that have to try and hit Tebow low, LSU had the kind of athletes that didn't have to go for his knees. In other words, not that LSU was going to hit him high becuase we were trying to hurt him but we were going to hit him high because we have the athletes to do so.

I think if Tebow plays and gets hurt, it will be bad PR for LSU. Even if a legit hit, LSU will be unfairly criticized for Tebow's injuries.

LSU players are not doctors(yet). If the medical team clears him to play, our D should treat him as 100%. If he plays, I expect him to run with his shoulders down, and trying to run over defenders. That's the kind of player, and leader that he is. I hope that we play the same way.

Do you guys honestly think we're going to start getting better penetration against the UF offensive line?

irrelevant to the discussion, unless you assume he isn't running.

Somewhere over the course of reading medical papers on concussions this past two weeks, I remember reading a statistic that surprised me: That a QB was twice as likely to have a concussion over the course of their careers than a running back.

I figured that this is for a couple of reasons:

1) If a running back is going to be hit high, they will likely see it coming. It's not too often that someone catches up with a running back from behind, or even a blind side, and doesn't try to wrap them up low to make the tackle

2) A QB is more likely to sustain a hit that they didn't see coming, and are more likely to receive a high hit because defenders are often trying to put a helmet into the QB's chest, rather than trying to wrap them up. High hits are more likely to result in an uncontrolled fall that puts the helmet forcibly on the turf.

This is a long way of saying that the greatest danger to Tebow may not be from his running with the ball, but with him throwing the ball. If that is the case, and he does play, perhaps the worst thing that Meyer could do would be to try to keep him back in the pocket and not having him try to run with the ball.

If Urban Meyer is stupid enough to let Tebow play when he's not ready, then it's his fault. Any player who steps onto the field is assumed to be healthy, and must be prepared to take their licks like everyone else. (except the kicker of course)

Don't worry about knocking Tebow out and taking the blame for it......Believe me if Tebow goes down the press will be so all over Urban for playing him it wouldn't matter if LSU mugged him with baseball bats, Urban will get the blame for anything in the eyes of the media.

What is your honest feeling about Tebow playing this weekend and possibly being reinjured to the detriment of the rest of the season?

How important do you think this game is compared to the rest?

If the doctors say it is OK and Urban says it is OK and Tebow says he is a go I am all for it. None of us as fans know what is going on in Gainesville. We along with the media are all guessing. We are not close enough to the situation to know what is best. The so called experts even have differing opinions.
