it is unethical and unsportsmanlike for him to play, so he gets what's coming to him, imo.

eta: i say this because he wasn't allowed to even READ three days ago. No way is a LEGIT doctor going to clear him to play. If he's a punter, maybe, but he's essentially a throwing fullback--his sine qua non is battering people with his freaking head. so, now, LSU is put in a position where, to win the game, they have to beat the crap out of someone who might die if they beat the crap out of him hard enough to win.

this is wrong.

If Tebow is cleared to play then there is nothing wrong with him. It is not the time to let up on him. ESPN will always put LSU in a catch 22 situation. Mark my word if Tebow plays and wins; he will be immortal forever. If he looses there is always the concusion excuse and LSU did not deserve to win. Just be prepared for a no win situation if LSU wins the game.

The bottom line is this. If Tebow get seriously injured because of a CLEAN hit Saturday night...it will be because an LSU player did his job properly and a UF doctor did not do his job properly.

IMO if Tebow steps on the field, we must blitz the shite out of him and try to hit him every play to test his injury. This is how football is played and if he's not ready for that kind of situation then he should not be on the field. Personally I hope he is ready and they bring their A game so theres no excuses.

Yeah, I'm sure he told his players to do that.

Does anyone actually think that if Tebow plays, that there will be called runs for him? And if he does run, he does _anything_ but slide?

The kid is smart. Even a recent concussion won't take his smarts away enough that he doesn't recognize and understand the danger of a second-impact syndrome concussion.

While his instincts and style will make him want to put his head down and run like he always have, I predict the only shots LSU gets at him are in the pocket.

I also predict that if he plays, and runs, and doesn't slide, Meyer yanks his arse out of the game so fast it'll cause another concussion.

This is what he will get if LSU can get to him behind the line!
This a shot of him being hit with a legal hit and if he gets hit like this he will or Urban will be calling for a foul. I say if he plays then all bets are off and he fair game.

I say

Do you think for a moment that if a uf lineman see a knee brace on one of our DL's he won't cut block at that leg?
Football is a game where emphasis is put on wearing your opponent down through physical contact in an attempt to lessen his will.
If tebow plays, he's subject to the same rules as everyone else, although we all expect at least one bogus call against us though.
LSU won the SECCG in 2007 with a backup qb and their best defensive player injured by an ILLEGAL chop block.
Injuries are a part of the game and if tebow plays, we should blitz him and hit him as hard as we can, not with the intent to injure, but to wear him down.
I would not want my child playing in a game vs LSU 2 weeks after being knocked out cold.
I hope uf does the right thing with their student.

Seems like kind of a crappy comment to me.

Shoulder to helmet is legal.

As long as they don't hit him helmet to helmet, its fair game.

Also, if Tebow wasn't cleared to play, he wouldn't. I want to see the flags fly for his Gator Chomp...

As a young, very young kid, some girls wanted to play in our pick-up football games. My brothers and I were reluctant to tackle them.

My dad said to hit em just as hard as you would a boy, if they can take the hit, then they will continue to play. If not, they won't. Point is, they chose to step on the field, they are going to be playing by the same rules as everyone else.

If Tebow steps on the field, I hope to God LSU gets a clean hit and jars his f***ng world. That's football. And, yes, that includes hitting high vs. low (whatever that means) as long as its a clean hit.

With that said, and the rules clearly known to all, I sincerely hope he elects not to play b/c he really could get hurt and he seems to be a special kid (on and off the field).

He is not even going to make it to the game, one of our fans will hit him with several batteries/coke bottle/piss bombs before he steps in the stadium.

That's the problem, if he's hit the instant he throws the ball or a fraction after he throws, my belief is that the ref's will be quick to throw the flag to protect him. This could cause our players to play with a bit of hesitation. And if that hit is in that fraction of a second that could go either way as a clean/late hit, we will be looked at as taking cheap shots on him.

Here's the fundamental problem with everything being said here:

We have a total of one recorded sack on the season according to THIS. Do you guys honestly think we're going to start getting better penetration against the UF offensive line? I really hope we do, but given our D line play this year it isn't likely.

Shitty comment by May. I think our guys will try to bring the quarterback down anyway they can. May needs to quit reading message boards.

So basically if he plays he'll be thesafesyt player on the field because we either won't or can't hit him.

I think CUM is just cocky enough to bet on that and play him.
