On one of the college game day shows when May discussing Tebow, said Florida had to be careful, because LSU would attempt to hit Tebow high instead of low now. Didn't say LSU would attempt any cheap shots, but did insinuate they would be change how they would hit him, based on his recent injury.

Seems like kind of a crappy comment to me.

May has forgotten about football.

It is like he is some type of gossip columnist.

I would hope no one would try to further injure any player.

Agreed.

And, the problem with Tebow playing. If we bang him, even if it's a legitimate hit, and he goes down, we will be blamed for all sorts of evil savagery.

I hope if he does play, that our defense doesn't hold back, and does play with abandon, because we'll need them to in order to win.

I doubt they'll hit him any different. Just try to take him down and limit his yardage on the runs. If he is hurt and can't play any more its a bit of a "bonus" (yeah thats a harsh way to think about it, but kinda true im sure)

I think our D will be forced to not hit Tebow by the officials. If he plays expect at least one bogus call.

I think injuries are a part of the game. I don't think they will try to "take him out" but they most likely would blitz more and get more hits on him.

Obviously any direct contact to his head is worse and the higher you hit him, the more likely it is that it will cause his head motion to snap backwards opr forwards.....but no matter HOW or WHERE he gets hit it will aggravate a concussion. Every time he gets tackled, his helmet will hit the turf.

He is a running threat as he always has been. We can not afford nor should we hold back from hitting him as hard as we can on any play.

They don't need to hit him high. Anytime he hits the ground, his head will feel the pain.

If he is not 100%, then FLORIDA is 100% responsible for putting him in harms way.

Is Tebow going to give less than 100%? Nope. So our defense should play this like any other game, which is hit the QB hard and often.

ok to be honnest, they dont wanna kill the dude but theyre gonna hit him! if you played football in high school you cant honnestly say that you never tried knocking the oponets best player a little bit. its just how the game is played. i NEVER wish injury on anyone but when youre a great and at 1/2 strength, bad things are bound to happen.

Tebow is still built like a fullback, believe me players will still be going low against him, well maybe not Chad Jones.

what i think sheds a bad light on urban meyer is the fact that talk shows in orlando are discussing the fact that meyer has alluded to the fact that if UF was playing charleston southern this weekend he would hold tebow out ... so, all of this "we are going to take this concussion seriously" crap is just bullshite ...

especialy if Florida looses and Tebow gets knocked out they will be saying that LSU took cheap shots at Tebow in order to win the game. as for myself, isn't that what every team does is someone hard enough to make him leave the game in order to give their team a better chance of winning? knowing Urban he is going to cry foul if Tebow goes down no matter if it was cheap or not he will make it into a cheap shot. And also ESPN that way they have made the spin out of the celebration penalty it is like the rest of the game never was played. if it does not go the way that they predict it to go they will look for ways to say that we did not deserve the win or the ranking that we have.

F*ck it, they should take his arse out if they can. If you can't take a hit, you don't need to be playing. Seriously, if your health condition is bad enough that you are worried about it to the point where one shot could f*ck you up for life, you shouldn't be in the game. Take a seat, get healthy, come back when you can play the same game you played before. Tebow is a big boy and knows what he is getting into, so he can make the right decision.

I just hope they don't make the Tom Brady rule into the Tim Tebow rule.

As a young, very young kid, some girls wanted to play in our pick-up football games. My brothers and I were reluctant to tackle them.

My dad said to hit em just as hard as you would a boy, if they can take the hit, then they will continue to play. If not, they won't. Point is, they chose to step on the field, they are going to be playing by the same rules as everyone else.

If Tebow steps on the field, I hope to God LSU gets a clean hit and jars his f***ng world. That's football. And, yes, that includes hitting high vs. low (whatever that means) as long as its a clean hit.

With that said, and the rules clearly known to all, I sincerely hope he elects not to play b/c he really could get hurt and he seems to be a special kid (on and off the field).
