This is the group that has to have the game of their lives if LSU hopes to put an end to the losing streak to Saban's bunch. They have to provide some creases for the run game and allow Etling time to throw the ball. I think LSU's wide receivers can get behind Tide defenders for sure.

Aranda has the D clicking. They look really good.

That and Etling not throwing floating passes for 24 seconds. He does that vs BAMA, they'll score 3 defensive touchdowns

Would you rather Harris throwing into double and triple coverage?

I think I know the answer already

Partly on the O-line and partly on Ensminger game planning. Their pass rush is fierce and he has to make them slow down.

The other key is containing Hurts and making him throw the ball.

And obviously, as always, don't turn the ball over. Bama isn't great offensively, can't give them any help.

True Etling floated a pass, but so did Kelly. He'll never be considered a rocket arm, but he can put zip on some passes.

Obviously line play is key. Hopefully Weathersby comes back healthy. The DL will be a big question as well. They got pushed around last year. We need Valentine to contribute this game against the Bama heavies. We need pretty much everyone to hold the point of attack.

Bama owns college football because they own the LOS (both sides). If LSU wants to win, their DL/OL will have to play their best game of the season

This.

I know some may question the play calling at the end of the half but the red team will make anyone whiffing like Teahuma did pay even more dearly.

Lmao. Still bashing etling. You are talking like bama has a great secondary. It is their weakness...but I wouldn't want that to get in the way of your continued bashing of etling. Does he make a few bad throws? Sure...name me a qb that doesn't. The important thing is that he makes many more good throws, and teams HAVE to respect his ability to beat them. He is light years ahead of BH, and some of you just can't accept that.

We need to match their intensity and keep the score close.

you nailed it

game plan has to be a little tight and play to Danny's strength and allow LF7 to win the game. spread the field
and set up LF7 just like you did with Ole Miss and yes I know Bama D is not Ole Miss D.

be very careful with type pass plays called in the pocket as Bama is coming with 4 or 5 and I don't want to see them take out my QB.

I like Danny rolling out to the right - I love Steve at OC and as a group they have to game plan and that is a hope I have. They look at what Bama did to aTm and find what area's we might have a better chance. I have hopes with this staff this might really happen.

My take on Bama after watching them many times this season

- normal rush D between tackle's with good speed to sidelines

- great pressure on pocket QB - you can't set-up in the pocket for the norm - you just can't do it

What would I do as a maintenance planner trying to be a OC ?

motion and movement - they are as fast and big as ever
don't do what they expect as little as possible - quick hits
- LF7 taking direct snaps even throwing the ball at least once

- something different that Bama has not seen - I think I would put my best option QB and run it with LF7 and DG5

- my base would be spread's with LF7 running with play action off LF7 - TE / RB / slants - all quick throws

- over the top on plays with reads on Safeties cheating

My feel for Bama starts with their D - the pressure they put on the QB for 60 minutes is amazing - game plan against that pressure and protect my QB

Bama is vanilla on O - I best chance in this game is on the D side. Slow the run - contain Hurts - put him in passing downs and bring pressure but bring him down. He looks like a RB that plays QB.

Problem - Ole Miss and aTm pass the ball much better than Lsu / did no good / but Lsu runs the ball much better than aTm or Ole Miss and we have a better D than Ole Miss or aTm.

I don't think CEO will be giving me a call so I look forward to what the staff comes up with and I have faith since they will game plan. I know we will play with passion but that is not enough. It will take 60 minutes of clean football but in every game mistakes happen. I believe in more than facts as I watch football every weekend of most of my life.
Much happens over and over again that have nothing to do with the facts. There is a feeling sometimes that we as fans feel and I have that feeling about CEO. It is like the stars lined up for a good Louisiana man.

I want to beat Bama but it is more than that - I want CEO to beat Bama

Damn man. The kid had two bad throws all night. I guess you missed the 2 1/2 quarters when he was killing it, and then him bouncing back from the INT with 2 passes to extend the final nail TD drive.

Some of you people. Just damn.

It'll help that we won't be running toss dives every play.

The O Line is absolutely key on the field, and they have looked very good at times the last couple of games. It's been a tough year there with all the injuries and shuffling.

I'm ok with Ensminger and liked his game plans in the first two games, but he struggled a good bit last night. He cannot get cute against Bama. All that side to side crap in the opening two drives. The ill-timed reverse. We got greedy twice- once gift wrapped OM a TD and the other took a FG attempt off the board. We had some things really working well offensively, and he seemed bound and determined to go away from them, at times.

We absolutely can't do ANY of that vs Bama. We won't even have a prayer if we run stuff like that. That defense will kill drives with the quickness with negative plays if we do.
