I agree, and I'll add that he exemplified the term "team captain" in every sense.

I don't mean to diss him in this thread. He's an awesome guy. I'm just a Faneca man from way back.

Faneca was a 9X all-pro selection
Mawae was an 8X all-pro selection

Basically splitting hairs trying to argue which one was better.

Would love Mawae on staff; would just love it.

I loved the way he talked on the broadcast.

He would be a slam dunk hire, period. He could start to cherry pick the best of the best IMO.
Would be an upgrade and LSU would no longer have to be embarrassed about having to send their OL coach out to recruit.

Wouldn't mind him replacing Stud. I'm about tired of seeing Stud here tbh. Need some fresh blood for oline coach.

Big difference between helping out with film a few hours a week and working 65-70 hours and being on the road all offseason. Especially for a multimillionaire who just finished a HOF NFL career. Perhaps we should let him express interest in coaching before we plan out the rest of his career for him

He already has an interest in coaching. He spent training camp/preseason this year with the Buffalo Bills as an OL coach via the Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship.

Yeah, he is down to earth, from here, an expert at OL, a hof'er.....I think he could/would be a monster recruiter for us.

Put him on C-Rob! I cant believe that C-Rob cited his close relationship with Cristobal as the reason he chose Bama...

Nothing but awesomeness from that family.

I will second this. I had a chance to meet them under very tragic, sad and antagonistic circumstances and I cannot say enough good things about this guy's parents.

Grass is always greener on the other side of the hill crowd in here.

Mawae has been helping out since early September, but mostly on the defensive line. Trying to figure out what exactly offensive lineman are doing to dominate those guys.

I don't even think that's an issue for now. I just find it refreshing and very positive that Kevin came back home and wants to be around LSU because he loves it.

He could take an espn gig for sure, but he wants to be around family and home. LSU is home. Awesome situation for the university to be in.

Yea, and make him an assistant DA and bail bondsman to help take care of all our future thugs...excuse me. I mean student athletes.
