Watching A&M replay and there was a Hilliard sighting. Had almost forgot about him with all the talk about Hill, Blue, and McGee... And losing Ware and Ford.
Thoughts on his role in 2013?

I still can't believe the game this year where he takes the edge and gets to the one. Then he suddenly turns around, and tries to back over the defender. He is quickly stood up and kept from scoring.

I feel like it kind of summarized his season.

This is way too early to reach a conclusion about Kenny Hilliard's role next season. Didn't he just receive the most reps and have the most yards among all RBs in the second scrimmage? I think the presence of Hill and the return of Blue will serve as a strong motivation and give Hilliard a sense of urgency to improve.

That was South Carolina. I have no factual basis for this, but after seeing that play, I moved forward with the assumption that he was playing hurt last year. After he disciplined Rambo in the SECCG in the previous season, it did not make sense that he would lose that explosive ability to bully tiny defensive backs. It would not surprise me in the least for it to come out that he was batting leg, back, or core issues during the season.

To me Hilliard will be very important. Blue hasn't proven he can take the pounding without getting hurt. Blue actually has fewer carries than a 1 year player Jeremy Hill. Magee is a change of pace back which has never been popular in a Les Miles offense. I could see Hilliard being a real factor after Hill.

Hilliard wasn't battling injuries so much as serious adjustments in his life off the field. With stability at home, Hilliard should return to form this year.

Seems to me the Tigers are poised to have another great stable of running backs to call on this year. How many teams can say that.Kenny is a tough back and he runs hard. Though let's face it; he's not as good as some of posters on Tiger rant if they were in the game.

This. Didn't he have twins this past season? That can be very distracting.

Ware's primary role was interior running and blocking. I see Hilliard taking that up next year for sure. Hill continues to be Hill, Blue steps into Ford's spot but provides more skills at the position, making the running game more dangerous.

Additionally Hilliard can play fullback and we can get one of Hill/Blue and Hilliard on the field at the same time.
