He did NOT run into the kicker - he was clear with his back to him - the kicker then kicked him in the back and fell down. Terrible acting, but the refs bought it because they felt sorry for UNT.

Several of the slants were audibles by Mett. You could clearly see our OLine run blocking on a few quick slants.

Anybody that watched the game on TV and sober can tell you it was actually a pretty good game on both sides of the ball

I wish they would lock the Rant for two days after the game to let it settle

LSU also played an inferior team. I'm just glad we didn't open up with Oregon..

So you don't think who we played has anything to do with how we played? That is retarded. LSU gets up for big games.

Oregon kills cupcake teams and struggles against good teams.

Had LSU played Michigan we would have dominated them like bama did.

true

Still stole momentum and kept the defense on the field. We could have easily been up 34 at the half. But that still proves nothing.

I think Alabama wasn't as worried about covering receivers because Denard isn't really known for his passing skills. Not because they couldn't cover them. Obviously the secondary is young, but it's not like they aren't talented.

There were a few times that Denard was able to take advantage of it, but really, even with open receivers, he was only 11 for 27.

I don't really understand why LSU fans freaked out so much. When has anyone ever played well against teams like North Texas? There's a point of diminishing returns.

I like what I see as I watch the Bama reply...I was in Tiger Stadium last night. We'll be fine.

Fans are clueless. SEC teams rarely get up for OOC cupcakes. Put a good OOC team on the other side of the ball and the intensity level changes.

Another thing noticed: Mett audibles into DIFFERENT PASSING PLAYS!

I was expecting the patented "audible into a run up the middle" that I've grown accustomed to.

So kudos on that

I am trying. I remember when you guys opened with kent state last year. AJ threw 2 picks right? Didn't Trent have like 50 yards rushing? And sacks were gave up?

So the defensive scheme was to leave receivers open because Denard is not a good passer. I guarantee that's exactly what Saban told his players the weeks leading up to the game.

Watching the game right now but I think he audibled the pump and go but 2 of our linemen didn't hear or understand the audible

This week he will look so much better with a start under his belt.

LSU plays Michigan on a neutral field and the results would be very similar to Bama.

I agree with a lot of what you said and watched some of the Bama game too. Michigan got more pass pressure against a dominant Bama offensive line than LSU did versus a bad North Texas offensive line. I don't expect this to continue. If you don't get the job done The Chief will bench you. He is not Les Miles.

Finally a rational observation. The dline was solid but wasn't as flashy as some would want. Burger will be fine.

The thing I liked the most is the team looked unified. Players like Hill cheering on Hilliard even thoug they compete for touches. Copland getting a td and nobody is pouting.

Also that block by Landry was sick!!!!

We are the clear favorite to win it all. Greatest team ever. 2013 was always the year and last year was just a bonus.
