it is obvious that some one on this board has never been to ts during a night game.

IMO all of these "time/day of the week" statistics are ridiculous. A loss is a loss and a win is a win.

Mike Tomlin lost his first seven 4:15 games. Steelers should have fired him.

ok question.

after eading this thread im a little confused.

i know cbs picks up most games but espn does as well for lsu.

last year the auburn game and florida(damn i hate typing that name) were at night but on the road.

bama and uga were home and at 2:30. i have been to each of these stadiums except UGA which i will see this year and none had the feel of LSU at night.

the question which noone may even be able to answer is why cbs wont show the game at night or espn pick up these games as they did with the road games last year? thanks

is a known fact, we hardly ever get a quality opponent at night anymore

Well atleast we have Florida at 7PM primetime CBS to look forward to, right?

Pretty meanless when you have a contract with CBS that generally puts the "best" game on in the confernece at 2:30, meaning that if it is a huge game it is likely in the day.

Actually more than likely it will be on primetime, it has been primetime the last 2 seasons, at least

That proves one thing only: LSU played Auburn, UF, and VT at night in 2007. So what?

I would believe you more if you could look at winning percentages over say 5 years of teams ranked similarly that played in Death Valley. I don't feel like doing it, but I'm sure some intrepid Tiger fan could prove once and for all if the night time is the right time. Until then, it is a myth.

But I do like night games more. Problem is sometimes I'm too drunk to remember the game too well by that time.

That's a pretty good question dmitch. Why when we play big SEC games on the road, most are at night...BUT they're during the day at TS...hmmm

No it really doesn't. The day games are the ones moved so they can be on TV (the ones against good opponents). It's a myth

The myth is that people think it doesn't matter.

LSU hasn't played 46 home day games on CBS since 1996. (When the SEC on CBS started)

LSU used to play weaker opponents during the day way back when and they wouldn't play as well, and they would sometimes lose to the weaker team.

LSU plays better at night and the stadium is more electric.

No they aren't. The majority of our big away games are on CBS and during the day.

I never knew it was really an argument over whether Tiger Stadium is louder at night or not.

They have, repeatedly. And our performance is significantly better (as in statistically significant) at night over pretty much any significant time span.

No, it is what it is either way. Whether or not you (or any of us) choose to believe/accept it makes no difference whatsoever.

Unlike Nick who wasted no time by losing to UAB. Then followed it up in '01 with a dismal loss to OM. And then followed that up with an embarrassing lost to Bama in '02.
We only played 1 game each year? I could have sworn we won the sec championship & the suger bowl in 01.
