Of course if they keep running they win and they tried but that was being stuffed in the second half. If our offense would of been more complex in the first half we would've won more comfortably also.

I agree....first half looked horrible

It was really the second quarter and the beginning of the third. The first quarter wasn't that bad at all

All of those QB keepers where Jennings made the read and kept the ball paid off. In the 4th quarter when Hilliard had those runs, both the linebacker and defensive end bite on Jennings and leave the hole wide open for Hilliard.

Ehh, we held on to the ball and sustained longer drives just like Miles said we needed at half. They ran it, just didn't didn't have the amount of plays because we held onto it and finally established the run. We grew into the game and have a very young squad. Many firsts for a lot of guys out there. Watching diarse beast his way in is very encouraging.

DEAR Burt Reynolds,
You are a douche bag who probably thinks Les Miles wins with Nick Sabans talent. If by some miracle you are a true LSU Tiger Fan then bring something, ANYTHING, positive to this board.

Sincerely,
Tiger Nation

LSU shut them down after the first possession of the second half. A light switch kicked on and our Run D showed up making ALOT of tackles at the line or behind it!

It wasnt simply that a "light switched on"....its bc of coaching adjustments relative to the opposing scheme and the strengths and weaknesses, therein. Its not some magical circumstance that makes players do well or not

It's pretty obvious......if Wisconsin had any sort of ok qb play, they would've won that game.

Lsu did what they had to do. I think Jennings is good enough to be our qb for the year.

If that game is played again tomorrow, LSU wins big, no matter what Wisconsin does. The only reason the score got out of hand was due to LSU's crap play calling in the first half. It was the first game of the season, and we basically spotted them a half.

Letting LSU get more of their suspended players back in the game would only make it worse, too.

The screen passes alone could have did some damage if caught

We have too much talent in the backfield to not utilize the screen game more.

False. Their receivers couldn't get open against LSU's secondary, the Wisconsin QB had no one to throw to.

What you saw the entire game was LSU playing without what...5 players? Starting center, cb and a couple DT.

Even so, cry me a river. LSU should feel bad for winning? Injuries are part if the game. I dont care if Wisconsin got mad and forfeited. Its a win

I love when people that don't understand football pretend that they do. You seem to do that a lot. You are dead wrong BTW. The running game was shut the frick down. The scary thing for them is we only used 3 DTs in the game and they only got stronger as the game went on.

I watched the game again

LSU shut down the running game in the second half.

contrary to belief, Gorton actually played in half of the 6 2nd half possessions ...He was shut down, they were locked down.

Our line play on both sides of the ball was not that great. The only way we could stop the run was by stacking the box. This is not a good sign. Other than that I was encouraged.

I don't know why this got downvotes. They had no answer for Gordon, luckily he inexplicably left the game. The backup was nowhere as explosive and led them to pass more, which led to turnovers.

They really couldn't. Watch what we did from the third on. We absolutely sold out to stop the run. We were in Zero or One coverage multiple times and playing straight one-on-one man coverage.

Now if you said "If Wisconsin had a mediocre QB, they would've one", I would agree with you. We wouldn't be able to go all out on the run against a team with any passing attack.
