Jimbo was as criticized as any offensive coordinator we've ever had when he was here.

I don't remember Rohan Davey being a 1st round draft pick, do you? How about Matt Mauck? Damuyun(sp) Craig? If memory serves, all have West titles. 2 have SEC Titles. One has a big boy ring. But I guess that doesn't fit the narrative, so to hell with all that.

Maybe if you are comparing 2005-2011 Miles but he is a massive upgrade over Miles right now. Miles is NOT a good coach anymore. Terrible game plans and confusion consume a Les Miles coached team lately.

Les Miles lost 21 games in his four seasons as the head coach of Oklahoma State, most of which were to unranked teams.

In the last four seasons, Jimbo has lost a grand total of...5 games.

Jimbo Fisher is not going to change the trend in Baton Rouge. The best move for LSU? Hire a progressive offensive coordinator and shift to the spread offense, which is the way the college games is headed.

This is why I pay very little credence to what outsiders have to say. It is Miles very stubbornness with regards to improving the offense that has led to his undoing. What the writer suggests as a way to improve was NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Thus, improvement wasn't going to come.

Throw in recruiting holes and inexplicable coaching decisions with a program trending downwards and Miles loses support from boosters and fans. It was almost as if Miles was asking them to call his bluff, which they did. Miles was never going to change come hell or high water.

LSU can make an average coach into a great one. it's up to the coach himself whether he remains great, or loses the head coaching job at LSU because he doesn't.

Unless Jimbo has a first round QB (very rare)

Apparently it isn't that rare for Jimbo. Between Jamarcus Russell, Christian Ponder, E.J. Manuel, and Jameis Winston, he tutored a first round QB for 9 years. Maybe Jimbo was the reason they were drafted so high.

The article didn't mention that Jimbo Fisher has the highest winning percentage in all of college football. It also failed to note his 3 consecutive ACC titles, his 29-game winning steak and his 6-1 record against the SEC teams including 2-0 in bowls against them.

Also, this is his first head coaching job. That's not too shabby.

Luckily Jimbo makes 1st round QBs happen. 4 in the last 9 seasons back to JaMarcus.

He also OC'd LSU to a NC with a dentist at QB.

Two of his guys that left after 2 years under Jimbo both started at other schools. 3 star Trickett started for West Virginia and 3 star Coker starts for Alabama.

His QB he left with Miles (Flynn) won a national championship and played backup for several years in the NFL.

He took FSU's old regime 3 star QB (Ponder) and turned him into a 1st round pick.

He took Dinardo's QBs Booty and Davey, and made the all SEC.

The guy has recruited three 5 star dual threats from 2005-2012 and 2 top 4 pro style QBs in back to back years (2015-2016). That's 5 top QBs from Louisiana, Virginia, Alabama, Florida, and California.

His 3 star right now Sean Maguire, has played in limited games this year, but has put up 970 yards 65% 8.3 ypa 8 TDs to 2 ints.

Dameyune Craig at Auburn?

This man knows QBs like the back of his hand.

This article pretty much nails it. Unless Jimbo has a first round QB (very rare), he is very average.

So in his 5 regular season games he has lost a favorite he's lost by a total of 15 points.

LSU lost by 17 to Arkansas just this year.

I am not saying I think jimbo won't succeed. But, the last time he was here, the fans couldn't wait to get rid of him.
