I'm no architect, and I'm not saying I could do a better job. But surely they can't think this looks good?

Even Bama architects made their stadium look half way decent.

Compared to the other sides of the stadium, this side was the most updated already.

It looked worse than both the North and East sides. Maybe the only side it was superior to is the South side.

I believe the same architect designed both stadium additions so ponder that...

They are already redoing the windows. Someone posted a picture a few weeks ago showing it. Looked great.

yeah, if anyone happens to be over at TS today, take a picture of the North Endzone and post it....I'd like to see an updated picture. For whatever reason, LSUsports.net has not been posting updates of the north end.

Holy sexiness. Looks a lot like the Box. Death Valley will be sparkling come football season (if its ready in time, which we know it won't be)

That's not a side of the stadium with a massive upper deck that has to accommodate a shite load of people. The new South end zone will rival that and then some. This is what the side of Bama's stadium looks like. It's just meh.

I think Bama's new endzone is beautiful and the inside of their stadium looks great, but you are definitely correct....That exterior side of their stadium looks like shite.

This looks nice. However I can't help but notice the white PVC drain pipe...

Here we go with this shite again.

Every goddamn time we have these threads, we have a future architect who has to put his two cents in.

Are the windows on the East side and West side being replaced as well? No point to do just the North side IMO. If they did all of them, TS would look almost brand new.

Keep in mind that they didn't build the new west upper deck from scratch. They tore off the top of the old west upper deck and rebuilt it with new club seating/lounges, press box and upper seating. Virtually everything from the bottom of the club lounges to the top was new construction, along with the 4 major supports. The ramps in the center and stairs were from the old uppper deck.

What LSU did was really remarkable, engineering wise. They attempted and accomplished rebuilding without losing seating capacity for an entire season, which was the alternative. If they would have had time, I am sure the architecture could have been more in line with the existing lower bowl. Just look at the renderings for the new south upper decks to see what can be done from scratch.

Only on the two newly constructed endzones. Their sidelines upper deck structures are not aesthetically pleasing at all. And those are hiding the steel supports structure of the lower bowl (see image).

Byrant Denny up until 1998 (before second upper deck)

Tiger Stadium if fairly unique in that it's lower bowl and upper decks are concrete structures. Most college stadiums have either all steel structures or a mix of steel and some concrete structures. Steel is cheaper and quicker to build, but doesn't look as nice as all concrete structures. Just look at Tennessee's upper decks and Auburn's endzones if you want to see cheap, bad architecture.

They're all being replaced. Work will be ongoing there since it's not the most visible part of TS.

Nice! That's going to look so awesome. When it is all done at the beginning of 2014, the place is going to look truly remarkable!

Tennessee has made some great renovations to the exterior of Neyland.

But the erector set endzones at Auburn are still there and look even worse in person.
