Haven't watched since the first tv timeout against the shockers day before thanksgiving.

Actually thats not true--i was channel surfing the other day and landed on the bama game. In the 90 seconds I watched they made that garbage arse team look like the 96 bulls.

Yes, LSU's final four run last year with the number one pick makes this historic losing streak this year completely surprising.

The annoying thing is, as much as we wanted to hope this wouldn't happen, it was such a terrible hire from the onset

Johnny trying to put that mouth piece on and buy another year.

Lord help us if this happens. In today's college game, inexperience isn't an excuse. The one and done rule has killed college basketball and makes most teams inexperienced.

The problem is coaching. Which, by your quotes, Jones pretty much admits he sucks at. It's his job to develop these players. That's something he has never been good at. We took a subpar coach from UNT and expected him to all of a sudden become a good coach. Obviously, that's not how things work.

Make no mistake about it, we have some players/talent on this team. The problem has always been coaching. He can't develop them and in return, it looks like they just don't care. He shows no leadership and doesn't demand leadership, thus, this team lacks leadership.

We need to clean house and get a coach who can actually teach team ball. Jones' teams don't play team ball. It's like they play street ball. No set plays and no defense.

I pray this nightmare ends the second we lose in the SEC tourney. Yea, UGA 2008 or whenever, is a good story, but this team has no chance. When it's almost a guarantee that the other team scores at least 85 points, it's hard to win, much less make a tournament run.

This is just Jones making up excuses and trying to buy another year. If he returns, I hope all season ticket holders return their tickets and Alleva is fired immediately. Actually, I hope Alleva is gone regardless.

To be fair Coach Jones had a decent tenure at North Texas.

What was decent about his tenure at UNT?

His record was 190-146 there, just so you know.

With victor this team might have gone 8-10 or 9-9... Losing Victor hurt big time

5 straight 20 win seasons
2 sunbelt titles
2 ncaa appearances

Before JJ got there they had 1 ncaa appearance and 1 sunbelt title.
His tenure was decent.

I doubt that.....Victor had a nice shot, but he was an average at best defensive player and could not stay in games due to constant foul trouble. Plus, Victor wouldn't have had Ben Simmons as a buffer this season. Going into the season with Victor and an unproven Reath as the only viable bigs spelled disaster for this team from the start. Johnny Jones is full of shite and is talking out of his arse.

Elbert & Epps are just wasted scholarships.

The reality is when we couldn't make the NCAA Tournament with Ben Simmons, it was like dropping an atom bomb on Johnny Jones' coaching career. You blow that opportunity and you never recover. Very hard to imagine that any top recruit will touch the program as long as Jones is here.

As for Temple, I'm wondering if this his way of telling Alleva that he wants Jones as coach for another year.

The fact that Alleva hasn't even mentioned the basketball program in a long time (I think) pretty much says that Jones' is done, as it should.
