Musselman going for payback? would be funny if JJ becomes their unofficial head recruiter.

Could def land in a worse spot than Reno. Interesting to see how much longer Musselman stays there.

Eta- a year after david patrick goes to TCU following the firing of Trent Johnson, now johnny lands at another former Trent Johnson school after LSU hires an assistant from Jones' former school to the staff of the coach that replaced Johnny, who's now at Nevada with Musselman who was linked to the job after Johnny was let go as The LSU Basketball coaching web takes another unique twist.

So...why did John Treolar run away from LSU so fast after taking an assistant job?

I wholeheartedly hope the change of scenery works out well for Johnny. Seems like a great guy and I'd love to watch him succeed, but it was time for he and LSU to part ways.

It's not just Jones and Musselman in Reno...

quote:

The Jones hire gives Nevada an LSU feel. Not only have Musselman and Jones worked for the school, but Nevada assistant Ronald Dupree played for the Tigers and was the school's director of student-athlete development in 2015-16 while Wolf Pack graduate assistant, Hays Myers, was LSU's student manager that season. Dupree and Myers will enter their second season at Nevada in 2017-18.

Happy for CJJ.

Just hope he does not try to recruit any LA players away from LSU.

Hope he asked for a sideline chair with a cup holder for his water bottle!

Johnny would be a great associate head coach. Recruits pretty well, agreeable, players love him, etc.

Just can't be the head guy
