Will y'all shut up about Les already and get back to the point of this thread. Dumping on Johnny Jones

We lost to three top 10 teams in 2004
So now iowa had more talent than 2004 lsu? My god.
Auburn was ranked 10 places lower than us.
The great saban also lost to inferior teams in 2000,2001,2002,and 2003.

Is that what I said? I said they lost to three top ten teams. I don't give a flying goat frick how much talent they had. They finished top 10 which means they're a good team. I stated a fact. Deal with it.

Where were they ranked at season's end?

No shite? I never said he didn't. I was discussing one year and you got upset.

They were worse ranked than lsu when we played them. They had less talent than lsu. They were inferior.

Upset? Im upset because i stated that lsu was a better team than iowa? My statement stands as correct. We lost an inferior team every year under Saban. 2004 included.
Deal with it.

Since I'm stupid and show my "lsu history ignorance" will you inform tRant which two seasons you're referring to below?

Are you simply making stuff up? The health of a program is more than recent accomplishment it's also how well it's poised for the future. OU, the U, and FSU were not. OU would drop-off after their blowout loss to USC, FSU was a shell of its former self. The U was on the brink of implosion. One could argue that USC, tOSU, and Texas along with LSU was the "healthiest" after '04 when Les came. That's why I claimed that we were "arguably the healthiest program in CFB" then.
This is disingenuous. In '01, the winner of the UF-Tenn game would play the winner of AU-LSU in the SECCG as heavy favorites. And then play UM in the BCSCG. Tenn beat UF and we upset Tenn. SO had we lost to Tenn your claim would stand. In '03 we won the BCSCG so your claim rings hollow. In '04, AU, OU, and USC all finished the reg season undefeated. History would show that AU should've been included over OU and the BCS would strip USC of their title.
So why even make a claim like that? It's irrelevant.
And why would you even entertain comparing the first five years of Saban with the last five years of Les? That's apples to carrots.
Once again, as the OP stated, JJ and Les have this in common, they both "massively underachieved." That's how Les gets dragged into this discussion.

And for the record, saban took over a program that was 2 years removed from back to back 10 win seasons and was littered with future nfl players.

In 2004 miami,Oklahoma, usc, fsu and ohio state were all far more healthy than lsu.

At lsu saban never once faced another sec program that would go on to even play in the bcs title game

Look I had my issues with Miles too but he's so far above and beyond what JJ is it's silly to even mention them in the same breath.

That's not relevant and you know it. We were ranked higher than Bama when we played them in 2015. Didn't mean a thing.
Listen I'm actually on your side when it comes to Saban losing to inferior teams. Hell he's done it at Bama 8 out of 10 years. I just don't look at 04 that way because Auburn and UGA were very good and the Iowa game was a circus due to the coaching situation.

Downvote for a shitty comparison. Even Miles haters are smart enough not to insult Miles by comparing him to Jones.

Outside of Kentucky the SEC is a football school and any successful coach at an SEC school is fired or forced out these days because it takes focus off of the football program.

Think he will go a different direction.
He coached two NBA teams; I think he can handle LSU.
Give him a chance and keep Livingston on the staff.
I think he would tear it up in BR if you give him a shot!...........

If you truly don't see any similarities to all of the comparisons I mentioned, then you are in complete denial. Come back to reality, Mr Rogers. You aren't in the world of make believe any more.
