Johnny Jones. Enough is enough!

JJ has to go. Like Miles, it's a year too late. The parallels to football are frightening. Like Miles, JJ has a great winning percentage, but it doesn't reflect how poor of a coach he really is.
Like Miles, JJ has had lots of talent (Martin, Mickey, O'Bryant, Simmons, Quarterman, Gray, Hornsby to name a few), and he hasn't done anything with them. WASTED.
Like Miles, he has changed assistants, but the results are the same. The common denominator is him. It doesn't matter who his assistants are, as long as he is the head coach, nothing will change.
Like Miles, his teams have massively underachieved. They are constantly playing down to the competition.
Like Miles, they are a poorly coached team. Sometimes they just look lost, and have the ability to make the opponent look like an NBA team.
Like Miles, JJ has no concept of how to properly use timeouts. You would think that would be the most basic of coaching abilities.
I could go on with comparisons, but I think you get the point. It's long been time for a change, but can Alleva once again pull the trigger early in the season and make a change?

Let's all hope but I'm not holding my breath.

No one cares what you think..

After an ugly loss it's always easy for us fans to overreact and call for the HC to be fired. IMO, calling for JJ to be replaced is no longer an overreaction.
I think now we (LSU) only consider what's the best exit strategy. Immediately and try and salvage something of the season? or let the season play out?
And to complicates things, it's hard to invest much confidence in Joe to make a hire. It's like letting 'more gov't' fix what gov't messed up in the first place.

Giving up 95 points to Mississippi State is humorous.

this will be his last season.

Jj is lucky no one at lsu gives a shite about hoops. Otherwise he would have been canned already.

And just like miles replacement, alleva will not perform a coaching search and just hire randy Livingston

Alleva will let you know when enough is enough.

Like Miles, he won a NC and played in another... Oh wait, he didn't?

Les miles does not deserve to be mentioned with Johnny Jones. Miles' last 5 years were still respectable. There is nothing respectable about the lsu basketball program right now.

Well we know firing him early in the season to get a jump on the coaching search isnt a positive thing. Lsu's free throw coach ( sarcasm) will be named interim and then be given the job after a long and arduous list of 2 candidates is exhausted.

He's from Louisiana. What more do you want? The common denominator to all our bad coaching hires is Alleva. Firing a coach just gives him the chance to hire another one.

Think he will go a different direction.

There are basically two types of coaches:
1) Those who constantly try to better their game ( Aranda, Sabin ).
2) those who just coast, stick with their base knowledge and have never cracked a book since college. ( Miles, Jones)

Again, there are 2 coaches.
1 is the most successful coach in lsu history and the other is Johnny Jones. Miles was justly fired but putting him in the same category as Johnny Jones is ignorance.
But i digress.

I agree that Miles is not in the category as Jones, but he ran the same offense year after year and survived on talent.
He made no effort to adjust to change, Sabin did.

In order to save the program, JJ must go. The next 2 years are loaded with High School talent in La. The right hire just may be able to cultivate that talent and put fans in the seat.
