Today, he's only 20. Does that help any?

Thank you. I forgot the most important part.

Kyle Anderson had other transgressions?
Yeah...he got buried on the depth chart. We've known that QB would be position of need in 2012 since Zach Lee signed with the Dodgers. LSU was damn fortunate that Mett was available on the waiver wires. If Mett doesn't pan out, LSU better hope that one of the RS Frosh can step up!

Assuming y'all are talking about this:

21 Year Age Rule for Division I
In Division I only, if a student-athlete has participated as an individual or as a team representative in organized sports competition, that kind of participation during each 12-month period after his/her 21st birthday and prior to initial full-time collegiate enrollment will count as one year of varsity competition in that sport. Any participation in organized competition during time spent in the U.S. armed services will be excepted. You may wish to consult with the student-athlete's current college's athletics director to determine exactly how many seasons of varsity competition he/she may have used. Please contact the NCAA membership services staff at 317/917-6222 should you have further questions.

If a player is suspended by the NCAA then the player cannot be redshirted. This happened to Robbie Greene at Bama last year. He had not used his redshirt before being suspended and was not allowed to take it last year. I'm not sure how it works when the school suspends a player.

#2- I seriously doubt the NCAA will let a player take a red-shirt because he was arrested and charged with a felony.

You better find that in writing if you want OneMoreTime to believe you.

Redshirting JJ would be dumb unless Miles and Co. have ZERO confidence in Mett.
eta
or they redshirt him and make him backup next season, that'd be great for JJ to get his degree.

I don't think the NCAA cares if a school suspends a player for non-NCAA sanctioned conduct (this incident has nothing to do with the NCAA). If he doesn't play, he retains a year of eligibility, at least according to the NCAA.

Apparently not and I'm an idiot for not knowing it and posting my opinion that it should be.

Or show me in the rulebook where that Is

He turned 21 YESTERDAY. Has he participated in an organized sport as an individual or as a team representative yet?
Loophole!

If JJ ever plays again it will be for Jacksonville St.
Posted on 8/26/11 at 3:24 pm to The_Pistol
Wow. Someone predicting JJ would be redshirted back last October should not ever show his face around here again, much less be proud of it by presenting the phucked up prediction again.
I guess the OP doesn't realize how stupid he is.

Jefferson can definitely redshirt, but I agree it is probably best for him and LSU to just move on.
The age 21 thing doesn't even deal with redshirts and is completely irrelevant in this discussion. And Robbie Green was suspended by the NCAA which also makes his situation completely irrelevant.
Check the situation with Michigan WR Daryl Stonum for a relevant comparison.
