Size has nothing to do with who was the better dual-threat QB. If you watched HT play from 95-98 then the question of the OP answers itself.

You missed the point ... even at only 5'10", Herb was a much better dual threat QB than JJ at 6'4".

No long ago there was this 5'7" guy....

he could run like Gale Sayers...

he completed over 80% of his throws...

Herb had a really nice senior year in 98, it was just lost in all the disappointment.

Yep, if it wasn't for Lou Tepper he would have gotten talked about a lot more. I remember those tiger teams losing games like 35-31 and such. The offense he ran would score points at will, they just had a defense who gave up points just as easily.

If memory serves, we averaged 30.5 points a game in the SEC that year. The offense was great.

JJ. Had a good season in 09. People forget are passing game was all we had on offense. We rush for 50 yards 4 times and only rushed for 170 or more twice.

How about we agree that he is the best dual threat senior QB on the current roster and not try to stretch beyond that. Next thing you know, some idiot will try and compare him to Tebow.

Seriously? Your blinded by the light of the undefeated season... and that was led by JL for 9 games! To see JJ being considered the the best ever, is delusional.... LOL
Sorry, if I sound negative ; but come on man!!!!
and JJ is a threat running..... I'm not sure what the other threat is? Passing? Reading defenses? Calling audibles? Could you a clarify please...

Good one filmat. Forgot about Woodley. Everyone was always all over Ensmingers jock but I always thought Woodley better overall.

No, not even close. Herb Tyler was 1000x better at that than JJ

This! JJ is not even qualified to hold Herb Tyler's jock strap!

I really hope that JJ has a good game against Bama, but he really is the worst Starter of any BCS bowl team.... and it's not even close!

People need to stop attempting to promote JJ as a good QB, he is not even a decent QB. I pull for him because he is a Tiger, albeit a turrible one

I became an LSU fan when Herb was the QB so I have only watched for about 15 years but in that time Herb is the best I have seen.
