7-2 against the toughest schedule in the country to date. He has exceeded expectations. Contract extension is a no-brainer.

This is not the toughest schedule. It was one of the toughest preseason but multiple teams expected to be above average are average.

People nes to stop with this shite including stating three top 10 wins. Miami and Auburn are dogshit.

Check back with me in a year or so and we will see who’s doing a better job overall.

I wouldn't put it past Alleva to fear USC will fire Helton and come after Orgeron.

And considering USC's hires over the last decade, they might be dumb enough to do it.

You beat me to it. I'm out in SoCal and I hear people talk about O all the time.

Maybe Alleva knows that he is gone after December and this a way of getting back at LSU?

extension for what?

To be fair, we are a top 10 team and should be favored to win out. Eleven win season might be reached. Sugar bowl is possible if things fall right. I can see JA pushing for it.

After that shite show last night I would enjoy me some sugar.

So-Cal going after Coach O, is that the leverage being used or is that the threat that exists or both?

We have been absolutely F'ed since the last extension they gave Les Miles.

If he wins out 10-2 going into a New Year’s Day bowl and the early signing period going well is fine but if we lose any where along the way including signing day then it should be really vetted.

I can't wait until his name gets mentioned in connection with the USC job and Alleva comes sprinting down the hall with another 15 year contract.

Jimbo!

Who's in his first true year at a school and who actually did inherit a program that needed rebuilding.

But we got a guy with losses to Miss. State and Troy on his resume.

O! Or after last night's shutout, maybe it should be zer0.

If those things come to pass, end the year 11-2 and sign a great recruiting class, then he deserves a bonus NOT a contract extension.

This is not the toughest schedule.
Interested in seeing who you think has a tougher schedule. By my metric, LSU's SOS is #1.

Compile opponents' combined winning % (give all FCS opponents 0 wins and the maximum number of losses by a FBS team to date--9, currently). Compile opponents' opponents' combined winning %, and disregard FCS opponents. After proportioning each set to a 1.000/.000 curve, apply the golden ratio between the two (that is, multiply opponents' winning % by ~.618 and opponents' opponents' winning % by ~.381).

Here are the SOS results.
