Just curious, what do you guys think Jim Hawthorne makes per year with LSU Radio Network? Over/Under 150 K? I think over due to all of the traveling throughout the year.

I don't think he's on LSU salary. Probably funded through the athletics department or sports properties.

I doubt that. One of Les' last reported salaries was $300k. No way he and Hawthorne were that close.

Base salary is actually only 80K, but obviously that doesn't take into consideration all the stuff the school pays for (travel, hotels, meals, etc.)...

Had this conversation not too long ago with someone who is in the know

$80k is a good bit when many of your expenses are covered. I would imagine he probably got a healthy bonus, based on sponsor revenue and TV money on top of that.

Yall have very inflated ideas of media/athletics salaries when it comes to operations and regional reporters

Exactly. People assume that if someone works for LSU athletics they make an enormous sum. When in fact, all those people working in the athletic dept make sub 100k salaries.

If all that Jim made was 85k then he was doing it wrong.

Yeah 85k seems really low for the voice of one of the more prominent athletic programs on the country. Idk, just seems low

I bet Sid Crocker got free food when he was the PA announcer at Tiger Stadium.

He is officially the Director of Broadcasting. I'd guess between 250-300k after raises over the years. I could be way off of course.
