Yeah 85k seems really low for the voice of one of the more prominent athletic programs

I have no problem believing his salary to be the radio play by play announcer is $80-$85, but he probably also gets paid to be the "director of radio operations" (or whatever his actual title is), he probably also gets paid to do the coaches shows, he also gets travel per diems, bonuses for tournaments, and advertising gigs, etc. He's gotta be in the $200 plus range easy. His tenure alone I think would demand that. Behind Miles, Jones, Mainieri, and Alleva, who's the next most prominent athletic dept. employee?

Yea he oversees all of the content on ALL broadcasts as well as equipment and everything else. (forgot where I read this). A lot more to his gig than just calling the games. I'd be shocked if he makes less than 200k and would not be surprised if he's over 300+.

Nah you're way off man. He has a lot of duties other than calling games.

Didn't Sid work for channel 9 in BR? I remember him doing the weather.

Guess again, typical job in broadcasting at the college level (major program) is in the $80s. I speak from a corporate perspective.

Director of Broadcasting is the top job at the university. And after 35 years of tenure there is no chance his salary is as low as you're saying.

Not saying that is his only income, just the salary for Director of Broadcasting. He could easily earn an additional $100k - $150K for additional duties/functions, LSU/non LSU.
But for broadcasting......$85K

Ah gotcha. Im thinking total income including from university and whatever else pays him. I could see 85k for just the actual broadcasting of games.

I wonder how many more radio commercials he will be doing once he finishes up at LSU. Which car dealership is going to throw down the big bucks to get that voice?

He wasn't just LSU's call guy though. He wa ahead of the media networking (I can't remember the actual title).

There is no way that the guy who called football and basketball and baseball only took home 80 grand.

If LSU paid him his base would be available online somewhere. I imagine he's north of 150k just from his LSU duties and probably gets a good chunk for endorsements and speaking engagements.
