Best of luck to another former Tiger

Good exposure for Lange. I fully expect him to be lights out next year.

i'm sorry to see him go. I think he has a lot of potential and could use another year.
he couldn't have been offered that much money but I guess he prefers the minors over college.

Sometimes players are encouraged to do one thing over another

Spot on tigerskin... It is my understanding that both he and Smith were encouraged to do one thing over the other. Baseball America is reporting his bonus as $150K.

Unfortunately in a sport with 11.7 schollies, 35 man roster limit, and the MLB draft being a complete shot in the dark for incoming recruiting class, attrition, or the Saban famous "processing" must be done. People may see it as Mainieri being mean, but atleast he encourages these guys to sign when they have the chance at a pro career and money, instead of coming back and not playing next year because of depth or getting cut in November, and then not getting drafted again at all.

I think he reached his maximum potential here at LSU. Good for him

He was always a player that I expected to leave for the right number. Which was $150k. Good for him.

this I do not understand. he was better this year than last year but still needed to improve his pitches. how is that reaching his maximum potential.
it seems to me you are saying that Dunn isn't good enough to coach him to improve.

I see no real MLB future for the kid...but best of luck anyway. Whatever

You are correct. There is more than one senior on this team. But, this year is typical of all years. There is never more than two seniors on the team remaining from the original freshman class. This year there is only one senior from the original freshman class. Congratulations Hunter! Very few actually play for LSU four years. And, you did that.

I'm sure thats exactly what HN wanted to do. How he was not picked up in a 40 round draft blows my mind. The fact that we got 2 junior position players to come back after being drafted is a miracle in itself. Unfortunately the expectations will be extra high (is that a thing for us LSU fans) with the returning group next year. Its Championship or bust x 10000.

Congrats to Jesse, best wishes, and God bless.

quote:He has been under Dunn for 3 years and has regressed BIG time since last year, IMO. Maybe these minor league coaches can shape him up for the big leagues.
