like your optimism....seriously
I just don't know why there is reason to be any other way. Cam has a proven track record of making these things work really well and if we get some of these juniors back we have some explosive playmakers.

Well that's part of the problem. If he isn't ready in the passing game as a receiving threat or a blocker that tips our hand when he is in the game. Unless it's an already obvious running situation Hill would be the better option unless he just picks up the playbook that quickly.

I don't know if you have noticed but recently Dyer, Lattimore, Gurley, Yeldon, Collins, have all came in and rushed for 1000 yards at jump. Have you seen Fournette? Do you not understand what our specialty is? I'll be disappointed if he is not the #2 back by SEC play.

oger is the most realistic poster in this thread and actually sounds unbiased.

No Roger is the most unrealistic poster. He'd have to have a worse season than JJ in 2010 to put up less than 2100 yards. JJ only had 209 atts in 2010. Mett passed 352 times in 13 games without Cam in 2012 and 296 times in 12 games with. I'll go out on a limb and say he passes for at least 300 times.

I can't see AJ matching JJs stats of 2200 yds and 17 TDs next year.

Saying that even with Cam coaching means you think we still have no QB coach and a terrible OC.

And, we don't need numbers, we need efficiency. If AJ can limit turnovers (which I think he will), and have a good completion percentage (which I also think he will), then LSU's offense will do relatively well.

At LSU when we have our typical stud RB's and rock solid defense (which I expect next year and the next) we don't need a heisman level QB. Looking back at our last 2 championship qb's (Mauck and Flynn) they developed slow but ultimately all they had to do was make smart decisions and not be a liability when their time came. Jennings is a FRESHMAN and we saw his first start against a very capable team, which he won by the way. I feel good about the kid under the care of Cam.

I'm pretty optimistic too. Remember, last year people weren't too impressed with Mett.

"He's a statue in the pocket."

"He isn't recognizing the blitz."

"He has no touch on his deep throws."

"He isn't what we thought he would be."

And, Mett had a great year. Cam has tape on AJ now, which is HUGE.

LF and JH and TM will all take some pressure off. That'll help some. But as we all know, if you can't complete passes down the field, the opponent can stack the box and contain you even with strong backs. Jennings will need to make huge strides in his composure and confidence, so I hope Cam can advance that as well as he can the technical aspects.

For us to have a better year next year one of two things has to happen. Either the DTs have to be surprisingly good, or the QB does.

Mett obviously had elite tools.

Hell, even those having issues with Mett ignored the fact he threw for over 2,600 yards his Junior Season.

I think "game manager" will be Jennings role. That will be ok, if the defense steps up to 2011 levels.

im sure hill and lf will get lotsa carries each and lf is a serious receiving threat outta the backfield, gonna have big arse jw to throw to also, i think w/e our qb is will have plenty of checkdown options and pa opportunities. hill and lf will probably spend a lot of time on the field together with our qb and with lf in the wildcat running the option with hill.

Looking for a 2010 type offensive year. Lots of angst and a heavy dose of running the football. Maybe throw 12-15 times a game, at best.
JennSwag will look good in the 2014 "Tiger Flexbone Triple Option Veer" with Hill, Fournette and Neighbors (Have to have a blocking fullback) in the backfield at the same time.
