Bottom line is that he is a total guess.
regardless of whether someone agrees with your logic, this statement is clearly true (although not entirely enlightening)
some will be more optimistic than others
some will be "sky is falling"
some are delusional in their level optimism
...just like anything else...

I go by what history has shown me. I agree with Roger that I think the offense will look more like 2012 than 2013.
new QB with very little experience, no proven WRs, same faces on OL with Stud still coaching (not a positive)...this leads me to believe the play calling won't be that dissimilar from the bowl game or most of 2012
Does this mean we won't win 10 games?? no.

Yall have to be joking.

Cam Cameron has a very proven track record of developing QBs quickly. We will be fine in this department. Its apples and oranges to compare where the offense is today than where it was in 2011-the coaching is just that much better.

The offense will be efficient this year. Hill and Leonard are going to tear it up, and increased use of the TEs will make this a diverse and dynamic offense. Cameron always gets the most out of the talent he has, just ask Randle El, Brees, and the TEs and RBs in his past offenses.

My prediction every year is 10 wins because Miles has now established that as the norm. I hope for more wins and would hate to finish below that.

With that said, Ole Miss has everybody coming back, and we get Auburn away. We still have Bama on our schedule and UF has been close every year except twice so I say 3 losses at the most, one loss at the least.

Jennings will be great for us next year. Dude has everything but the cannon arm. People shouldn't read anything into the Iowa game at all. We'll be 60/40 on offense but more uptempo which means more plays and we'll spread the defenses out more.

And is it a certainty that Rettig or Rivers or Harris will not beat him out in the spring/summer prior to the Wisky game?

big fat no. Rettig and Rivers have got to feel, at this point in time, that their dream shot is there for the taking. we will find out a lot more about who has it...and who really wants it in the coming months. trouble is, Jennings has a limited body of work and the others are complete unknowns. only time will tell.

I expect 12-15 touchdowns with about 1500-2000 passing yards and hardly any rushing yards. I want Fournette/Hill to rush the ball, not Jennings. If he can keep the interceptions less than 5 I will be a happy camper.

I expect improvement his Junior and Senior seasons. It would be reasonable for him to be a 25 touchdown 2500 yard type quarterback when he finishes as a Tiger.

Another thing to look at is the fact that Mett worked with Beckham and Landry over the offseason. And boy did it show! They knew exactly where the other was going to throw it. Beckham and Landry were Metts right and left arm...I haven't seen that type of anticipation between Quarterback and Wide receiver at LSU in quite some time.

Well, Jennings didn't have that rapport with Beckham and Landry, but maybe he will develop it with the other receivers. Dural, Peterson, Diarse, Quinn, Spears. All these guys have a chance.

Here are the things that give me confidence:

1. LSU recruits elite quarterback talent. The guys on that roster listed at QB could have gone pretty well any place that they chose.

2. I've seen Cam Cameron's effect on a player. Granted, part of ZM's better play can be attributed to pure maturation/age, but come on fellas, he went from average (outside of the Alabama game two years ago) to an absolute team strength this past year. By mid season, there wasn't another quarterback in the league I'd have rather had calling signals for us, and that had alot to do w/Cam. Jennings will improve.

3. Our O line will be better (especially if Collins stays), and if Hill stays/Fournette signs, I honestly think I could QB this team to 7 wins. Granted, we'd run 100% of the time, I'd never throw a pass, and Hillnette wouldn't be able to walk on Sunday mornings, but we'd still win 7 games.

4. Jennings knows what he CAN do. We all do. We've seen it. The fact that he'll have to win the job is a good thing for a young QB. If he takes the opening snap against WiscAAAAAAnson, it'll be because he's a capable player.

reasonable (protecting the ball is always key, but especially with a non-explosive offense)
& LSU could win very well with this if the defense improves drastically
I am hopeful. But to me, it all starts in the trenches & lack of DL experienced talent & depth is worrisome.
IMO, it probably won't be a high octane type offense, but it can win.

Regardless of QB, it is imperative that Cam mix in a good screen game and we find a solid & reliable pass catching TE for short to intermediate routes. These things can be a developing qb's best friend.

We have this, Desean Smith has great hands. Fournette is going to catch a lot of passes as well.

The 2014 offense will be more Dynamic than 2013-it will use more pieces.

Now, one thing we can say is that we have won big in the past with great defense and very little offense. That might be the solution next year.

Have you seen what Auburn did this year on offense? Marshall is no real passing threat, but he can catch you in a lull and hit you up for 250-300 yards in a game. With Hill(hopefully), Magee, Hilliard returning, that's 2337 yards and 29 TDs. Add in Fournette, and we should rush for over 250 a game. Even in 2009 JJ finished with 2166 passing yards 17 TDs, 171 rush yards 2 TDs in 12 games.

Even if he goes by just what JJ did, he should finish 2346 pass yards 185 rush yards, 20 total TDs

I think if our defense can play up to their standards, we have a chance to go all the way BECAUSE our running game will be be stronger than 2009s, which may be enough to lead us.

why are you so certain of this when we didn't do it this past year?
CC is known to utilize passes to RB & TE, but we didn't do it this year. We also didn't do it in the bowl game. What makes you so sure we'll do it better next year?

I just can't look past the fact that LSU is losing 3 of the best offensive players they've had in quite a while....yet they will somehow be better with completely unproven players at all 3 of those positions????

JJ was a little better than remember although far from great. I can't see AJ matching JJs stats of 2200 yds and 17 TDs next year. Just can't see it. (It's also possible that we run a 2 QB system)

We will run better than JJs team no doubt. Agreed.

I know you cant, but these three players weren't considered special until 2013. They surprised everyone. The difference was they had better coaching. LSU hasn't had a pass catching TE as good as Desean Smith in awhile but he was a freshman and didn't play much. He will in 2014. And LF is going to catch passes because he is a tough matchup for linebackers due to his elusiveness.

Also, because these are the things Cam has done everywhere and at every level he has been. We will be more dynamic, maybe not as high scoring, but efficient for sure. LF is special.

AU's OL is much better than LSU

part of that running ability was due to Mett's passing threat

maybe, but again, AU rushed for over 300/gm...that's one of the reasons Marshal had success (passing threat increases running success & visa versa)

I'd be ecstatic if AJ finished with these numbers & <5 ints
