98% plus of attendees at a sporting event are not "reflecting on the importantance..."

They are simoly standing or singing along out of respect for tradition.

Second, at no time was the intent to suggest that Coach Kim Mulkey or LSU’s players were less than patriotic because they weren’t on the court while the national anthem was played

He said they should have scholarships pulled.

You can't chage what you said, Jeff. We know exactly what you meant.

If this was your attempt at owning your mistake, once again, you failed miserably.

Hopefully this is the last we will hear about this subject.

frick Jeff Landry - what a dumb frick piece of shite. The media had their knives out for LSU and one of its top coaches and you had a chance to either side with the media or tell them to go frick themselves and you made your choice.

What a fricking embarrassment.

Landry does not have the honesty. humility or brain cells to simply apologize for a truly stupid effort to earn cheap political points at the expense of the State's Flagship school. He does not believe he is capable of error.

Whoever is advising this retard to keep doubling down on this should be fired.

Such a fricking embarrassment after 8 years of JBE, he’s the best the republicans could offer up.

He’s clearly chasing national headlines by keeping this fire going, Trump isn’t picking you as a running mate Jeff, get back to work fig

Double-edged sword.

He's clearly a moron. If he does this he embarrasses the state. But if he stops doing this and actively starts trying to accomplish things, he could do way more damage than simple embarrassment.

Nah, it’s his way of admitting he miscalculated how a political attack against LSU would go over in this state.

Saying he “fell for some stupid shite on twitter” implies that he didn’t know the reality of the situation, which is hard to believe considering he doubled down days later on Fox News and then tripled down in his letter to LSU. By then he would have known, even if he didn’t know when he first tweeted about it. He probably just got more backlash than he expected.

People should attend a Catholic Mass and go to confession once a week.
Failure to do so by a student will result in loss of scholly...

Sounds like Jeff Landry is crawfishing on his stance. For rule of being the governor of Louisiana is don’t frick with LSU sports. It’s the one consistently good thing in this state.

He wasn’t. But the national media, and in turn the local media, allowing presidential candidates to skip debates consequence free led directly to this.

Debates are important as it allows you to see and gauge the ideas and intellect of the people running. Landry hid from the debates because he knew he would have been destroyed.
