Success in baseball isn’t really linear.
The issues have more to do with roster management & class gaps, which admittedly is tougher than it’s probably ever been in baseball.
Having such a large turnover is pretty random, especially for a coach who recently inherits a program. So ideally you have your roster set to absorb this, but it’s hard to set up that way if you are not the coach previously.
Brian Kelly sort of going through the same shite. And Orgeron dealt with it after 2019 & it broke him. Jay is not going to let that happen.
