Post Game Video

Obviously very pissed. 2nd week in a row in which he has to address effort and competitiveness. Said he doesn’t even know who the leaders on this team are. Yikes.

Can't win any SEC games. Can't beat Southern. It's baseball. The wins will come. The bats will come around. The pitching will get better.
But For Tonight and after this weekend.

If the players lack talent, what can Jay really do at this point of the season ?

I like the last thing he said: “we’ll change the reward and consequence and go from there” when talking about not sticking to a plan when hitting.

Hoping that means we get some lineup changes and see new faces. I’d rather watch freshman that aren’t ready for the SEC at least do it right vs some of these older guys taking terrible ABs game after game.

Those guys don’t strike me as leaders. They’re good ball players, but more of the “swag” guys. It’s hard to be that when the team is losing.

Last years’ leaders were Skenes, Beloso, Dugas and Morgan IMO. Skenes was all business, his preparation set the tone each week I’m sure. Morgan and Dugas were 100% effort all the time. Every club needs these guys. They set the standard to follow as far as effort. Beloso helped balance Skenes’ military-like approach with some true love of just being there. People tend to to gravitate towards guys like him. Then you had All-Everything Crews there just producing at an elite level.

Morgan and Dugas were the biggest losses, as far as the clubhouse goes IMO. This teams effort is shite, which they wouldn’t have allowed.

me either, but it seems like Jay is basically challenging them to step up and become leaders, as the veterans of the team....

this "swag" bullshite needs to die.... y'all don't get to have any "swag" when you losing to fricking Southern, bruh

He relies too much on what the statistical data says... doesn't have a "gut" feel for decisions he makes. To be experimenting this far into the season with lineups and pitching is not a good sign.

Milazzo needs to be the primary catcher - he’s the definition of an effort leader.

Let Trav and Neal platoon at DH. Frey is still a year away IMO.

If Milam continues to struggle, especially in the field, you can go back to Pearson at 2B which lets you go offense on the corners with Kling at CF.

To a degree, I agree with your first part because I don't think perfect metrics exist (and perhaps CJJ only relies on them so far).

For the second. tax day was Skip's target so we still have two more weekend series to go.

Add Milazzo and take away Morgan as a leader last year and you will be right
