I'm sure the recruits that's reading this post will agree and join the ranks of other LA prospects on ALA team. Can anyone be more football minded and give football ideas and solutions?

But we've recruited at a very high level during our decline. What does that tell you?

LSU isn't very good. I despise Sehorn but he's right.

Our idiot head coach can't play QB either. He can't recruit one as well. Don't know what happenedb to a reasonably good O line but with out that and a decent QB u can't win any game.

Breaks my heart to say you're right. I wish it wasn't so.

Bama has hit both playoffs so far, and will probably continue to do so. If we are being compared to them (and you know we are) then it will always be seen that way.

BAMA makes a point to be in contention every year. The last couple years people seem to be hoping team x and y have a down year so we can beat them. A few years back people were confident playing top 10 teams not so much today for good reason.

That said, if we don't make something happen in 2016, we WILL fall into mediocrity.

We are there now. How many real teams we've beaten lately? Last year maybe 2 or 3 this year one team and they had a back up qb. Worse they were blown out twice in a row.

"we have fallen off in recent years - that much is obvious. we're recruiting at a pretty high level right now. I think we can get back to the top."

The 2014 Recruiting Class (Fournette's class) we had possibly the best class in LSU history, and still finished second to Alabama. If we don't make up ground on them in recruiting, we'll never beat them with coaching.

On the other side of the coin, LSU has consistently had better recruiting classes than almost every other SEC West school, yet we have lost to Arkansas, and Ole Miss so how are they beating LSU with less talent? Could it be coaching???? You DAMN Right it's coaching.....

You see this is what pisses me off about the media. Wasn't he one of the people defending Les and saying we'd be making mistake in firing him? Hypocritical bullshite.

No kidding, and people act like that is shocking.

Teams that remain super-good:
Alabama (this makes life hell for the rest of the SEC)
Michigan St- this is a little misleading, as they are consistent, but have never quite matched where we were at our peak.

Other teams that aren't as good as they used to be:
Florida
Florida St
Oregon
USC
Oklahoma St
TCU
Baylor
Boise

These are all teams that were in contention for BCS games and titles the same time we were. Only Florida had a run and titles comparable to us, and I'd say they have fallen further than we have. Oregon would be next, and it seems like they are sliding back now.

Oklahoma and Ohio St- these teams are yo-yo'ing, much like LSU. Good seasons, with runs of "mediocrity" interspersed. Ohio St was considered gone and passed by Michigan St (as premeier program in the B1G) until they hit a home run by hiring Urban Meyer, and a couple seasons ago Oklahoma was getting blown out in big games.
