Georgia and Mississippi State last season, those 2 games there were no defensive/or special team touchdowns.
We do include field goals because the offense puts them in positition to kick the field goal.
Against Tulane LSU scored 35 but Hawkins had a Fumble Recovery for TD.

The point wasn't to say Lee should start, it was to show how you were twisting and only using partial stats for your particular argument, not a well rounded argument.

Lots of good points made in this thread.

I have been a proponent of getting Jarret Lee in for a series or two or more, when JJ was struggling or the opposing defense seemed to have him "figured out."

We cannot have a "cult of personality" situation where JJ is seen as Jesus and no one else matters. It's like we are trying to re-create the Ryan P. situation.....where we need one "GOD" and not be undecided about 2 QBs.

As Chicken posted in the Mickey Guidry thread, a semi-dual-QB system served us very well.

We should return to this.

This is really comparing apples and oranges here. Lee's offensive line last year with big herm, helms, etc was never as suspect as this year. He was given time to deliver the ball and still forced the ball in there. Not only that, but that offensive line could open up holes for the running game and chuck had a solid year because of it. When Jefferson is given sufficient time to throw (which yes there are times where he has held on to the ball too long) he delivers a good ball. When the offense is able to run the ball, that takes the pressure off of Jefferson and doesnt force him to have to win the game which he is just not ready for.

No big guy, I'm looking at the breakdown and he threw a TD pass and so did Keiland Williams. He accounted for 7 points.

Your failure is quite funny little man.
1) Lee led the drive to give Keiland that opportunity
2) Lee had TD passes to Mitchell and Lafell

In attempt to objectively assist rational thinking people analyze whom they feel is better Jarrett Lee or Jordan Jefferson, I have put together a list comparative statistics for first six game of last year and this year. It should be noted that after the first 6 games is when JL’s stats tanked. He threw and additional 10 interceptions and finished the year with a 116.93 efficiency rating.

Jarrett Lee 2008
Passing yd’s 659
Int’s 6
Sacks 2
TD’s 8
Percentage 59.5
Efficiency 138.66
Team Points 187-129
Record 5-1

Jordan Jefferson 2009
Passing Yd’s 1016
Int’s 3
Sacks 18
TD’s 7
Percentage 62.8
Efficiency 133.41
Team Points 138-87

He proved his ability to throw the deep ball in that game and auburn. What he did the rest of the game is a different story. All three of those balls were beautifully thrown.

You can't ignore all but 3 passes when discussing a QB's ability to throw the deep ball. It doesn't work like that. A QB could throw 50% of his deep balls perfectly but if the other 50% are straight to a defender then that QB's team could not afford to let him throw the deep ball.

Dont blame it on the O-Line. Jefferson averaged 3 games a sack last year, he is averaging 3 sack a game this year. Its on Jefferson not the O-Line. He drops back to where the guards are blocking to.

You are correct, Lee accounted for 2 passing touchdowns that game. He did net about 7 points though on account of that pick six.

Dunno what you are looking at but
01:03 LS - Brandon LaFell 18 yd pass from Jarrett Lee (Jarrett Lee pass failed)
7 plays, 54 yards, TOP 2:57, LS 26 - AU 21

3rd 06:28 LS - Chris Mitchell 39 yd pass from Jarrett Lee (Colt David kick)
7 plays, 73 yards, TOP 2:36, LS 10 - AU 14

those stats are extremely misleading as Lee split time and Jefferson didnt. Lee would have a ton more passing yards than Jefferson

Very well said.

You can have a "cult of personality" QB situation when the QB warrants it. (Insert examples). NOT when the offense is essentially impotent.

Those stats are nice but Lee played less than 50% of snaps the first 3 games of the season. There is no real objective way to compare last year and this year.
This year should have been more stable as players/coaching staff have known their role since Spring Game.
Last year players did not know, with dual defensive coordinators, RP situation, etc.

Well then I guess Jordan Jefferson purposely ended the drives in which the defense had pick sixes because he's psychic and knew it was going to happen. And since QB's lead drives for running backs to score then they should get half a rushing TD too. That's not the way stats work dude. Get over your Jarrett Lee bullshite; I've seen you post at least 5 times on every Jarrett Lee thread since last year. NOTHING that you say has facts included. It's all about finding the one minute thing wrong with a 500 word paragraph and twisting it into something positive for Jarrett Lee.

So you would have J Lee transferred somewhere else?

He's worthless to us?

Really?!?!

LSU didn't recruit him?

He just walked on and is just in our way now?

Someone.......please tell me how J Lee is such a mistake.

Get over yourselves.
