Did Les lose his cool and said Fk it and call it a day?

it was as embarrassing a call as just telling JJ to take a knee.

what about not going 2 minute offense when we needed it? what about letting JJ check off into RUNS late. what about punting late????? Does that show you are fighting to the finish regardless of the damn score??????? Hmmnnnnnn

Best chance to win bby.

I mean seriously, Who the F are we to question whther or not a full back dive isn't the best play to run vs Alabama to ensure victory.

Come on fans, get it together.

Have thought about this many times. I just didn't understand why we didn't start going to max protect and sending 3 deep every down. There comes a point, or I thought there was, where if nothing is working you go balls out to try to win. Personally, had we thrown 2 pick 6s in the final 5 minutes and lost 35-0 I would have felt better about it than going out like bitch the way we did.

Seriously, Copeland had daylight bra. He just couldn't make it cause of a delay handoff.

who served up this garbage of a game, it is beyond comprehension.
LSU was the best team in the country in 2006 but Miles would not pass in 2nd half against Auburn, later apologized for this, lost game.
Fast forward to 2012 and same thing, no passing 2nd half, LSU scores no points and loses, game appeaars to be fixed.

Well, I think it shows how desperate we were, and how much confidence Miles and/or our staff had in other facets of our game. Getting cute at that point, against that defense, was about as desperate as Saban was on Nov. 5th with the Maze pass that Reid intercepted.

If you really want to talk about embarassment, Copeland lining up as a wide receiver on a straight handoff to Hilliard more fits the category, IMO.

Coaches from the sandlots to the stadiums were belly laughing that one for days to come. We really should have had Jefferson run up and down the line and backfield with his WTF face prior to the snap, walk between Lonergan and Williford, ask for the ball from the side, walk it past the line, then streak to daylight.

Would have been more effective, IMO. Or maybe a direct snap to Ford, while Jefferson looked characteristically confused.

Hurst completely whiffed his block or Copeland makes first down easily. Play call was because OL was not holding their blocks and a quick hitter would work. Did not plan on not blocking back side. Oh well.

Oh, I get the call, and I'm aware of what was intended. But, again, not so much embarassed by it, as baffled by the timing of such a call. It falls into the cute category. Not usually reserved for 3rd and 4 plays late in national championship games when trailing by 2 scores, and you haven't established any semblance of an offense.

If the intent was to surprise Alabama on that play, I think a simple 5 yard pitch and catch would have been sufficient in that respect.

But by the time JJ finished his wind up before his throw, he would have been sacked.

If you timed his quickest release with a receiver's ability to cover yardage down field, the quickest route they can run is the "5 yard slant and wait 4 seconds for the ball" or the 15 yard crossing route provided JJ starts his release the instant the ball is snapped.

If he could have gotten past those first 11 Bama defenders.....just maybe could have scored!
