I was a little surprised he was drafted considering he didn't play at receiver all year. Nevertheless I'm glad that he is getting a shot.

Wright obviously had a lot of talent or he wouldn't have been drafted. He just got stuck behind some studs (Randle, ODB, and Landry) while at LSU and saw limited time because they just didn't go 4 wide very often.

This also speaks to the talent of Dural. He passed up a guy on the depth chart, as a freshman, that is playing in the NFL.

Was always a fan of J. Wright and K. Boone. Wish they could've contributed more for us and made a bigger name for themselves. Plus, how badass does the name Kadron Boone sound?

Agreed. Imagine if he had the good fortune of having Mett throwing to him for a year or two.. Or Cameron for a year.. Would have been right up there with OBJ and Jarvis.

I know I should provide a link, but I just cannot remember where I read the story a few days ago about how the LSU coaching staff went overboard in praising Wright to the Bengals coaching staff during player evaluations. Apparently they were effusive in their praise of him.

Not to forget JJ and Lee basically split snaps at QB his first two years. Over those two years he had Toliver, Randle, and Shepard (three 5 star recruits), and Beckham over him. Then he had Mett his last two years. Beckham, Landry, and Boone were ahead of him and Dural was going to start at WR 3 if not for his injury.

In his four years, he had three different QBs throw the ball at least 256 times. He also had three different offensive coordinators. He had four 5 star players ahead of him at his own position. He was the lowest ranked WR here, who got playing time, by a large margin (42nd).

There really is no surprise that he was nothing more than depth and a special teams player. I don't mean that to sound bad, but we really hoped he would come through as that taller deep threat in 2012, but never did. Hope he can latch on to a career like Danny has in Dallas.
