Would Purple Drank be the cause or the treatment for his lethargy addiction?

Russell has become the poster dude for lethargy, a condition waiting to be clinically approved.

Soon doctors will explain that lethargy isn't a character fault, it's a disease. If a golfer can be addicted to sex, why can't a quarterback be addicted to sloth? At least Russell is a recovering non-workaholic.

Damn.

Funny shite on this thread!

Are any of you surprised at all? I can't wait for the details on this one. He had no script, like the article said. THEN HOW THE frick DID HE GET IT? No script and he has a bottle, well he got it somewhere! ANd since when does a bottle of this shite warrant our feds to spend tens of thousands of dollars to get a $2500 bond arrest.

Do they think this was a "successful" sting?

I cringe at the thought of what it just cost us taxpayers to get this lazy fat usless bum arrested for a bottle of cough syrup.

Notice to the feds: We want this idiot out of jail. He alone will support Alabamas economy with his spending over the next 2 years......until he's broke.

I guess he has to find something to do in all his spare time. He certainly doesn't need to work after taking all that $$$ from the Raiders. I am sure he can afford a good attorney.

Codeine is much less potent than hydrocodone. And mixed with promethazine it will make you fall asleep before you could drink enough to get high. In many states, including Louisiana, you can buy up to 120 ml of a CV codeine cough medication in a 48 hour period without a prescription. It is at the discretion of the pharmacist. So this whole situation is kind of rediculous.

His type - No surprise! They come into money, and quit working. They just want the glamour, fur coats, whores, cars, and drugs. Kid's life is on its way to be fricked good. He may have been talented, but he was never a team leader and as a result LSU did not get a NC with him.

Maybe some jail time will teach him a lesson, but probably not. Look what its done for Michael Vick, Cecil Collins, etc.

There goes his career....all for some cough syrup

His career is gone bc he doesn't have the drive to better himself. NFL teams have given players second chances after way worse criminal offenses. Hell, Ray Lewis, was on trial for murder and well there is Michael Vick, etc.

As dumb as JR is, he was apparently the subject of an undercover op and all they had on him was possession of a C-III narcotic. Waste of tax dollars for such a minimal bust

Hydrocodone is a schedule 1 narcotic

No it isn't. It is a C-III narcotic. At least look things up if you aren't sure before you post

Schedule 1= marijuana, cocaine, heroin.

Schedule 2= adderall, oxycontin, percocet, hydromorphone, etc

Schedule 3=hydrocodone (lortab, vicodin), codeine derivatives, suboxone, etc

Lol, I'd love to know who told you that. I am currently in pharmacy school and have worked in a pharmacy for 5 years. You CANNOT buy anything with codeine without a prescription. The only OTC cough syrups you can buy that will get you buzzed have DM in them.

The second you bring in a prescription to any upstanding pharmacy for any controlled medication, you have to present a state issued ID. We cannot even sell any product with pseudoephedrine in it without taking people's DL number and address down.

...seriously, Purple Drank is addictive, and might account for JR's poor performance as a Pro...

IMO, there is a message for us "regular guys" from JR melt-down:

No matter how much talent (physical or mental/intelligence) anybody has:

there is no replacement for dedication/effort at whatever you do as a career or in school etc....
