Yocom is a much better option at 2B
Jones will not be coming out of the lineup

His glove is too valuable to the team. I wish it wasn't though. He's a complete liability at the plate.
Adam, do you attribute this to him still being unable to hit breaking pitches?
ETA: Sorry, thought you were Adam4848.

Is or isn't?

I don't want to hear all of the garbage about him having better at bats, taking more walks, making solid contact, etc.
I can tell you have never coached baseball or have not followed baseball long enough.
Jacoby leads the team in stolen bases, has the 5th most rbi's on the team, grounded into the second to least double plays, leads the team in walks and has a pretty solid .974 fielding percentage for a second baseman.

I'm sure the OP hasn't been training to make it to the MLB his whole life like Jacoby has so that is a pretty irrelevant. But if I had to go out on a limb, i would say the OP would have gotten 1 hit against auburn

ust for a midweek game. Clear his head.

I'm not saying we have someone better.

This logic never gets old.

I know we're fine now, but baseball is a funny game. I'm sure guys like Katz and Bregman will cool off at times later in the season, and other guys will have to step up. Jones has been regressing at the plate ever since his freshman year. I'm wondering if there's somebody that can give us similar defensive play and be a little more productive at the plate.

Between this thread and the one about our catcher, the tards are definitely out in full force this morning

But is he really all that great? His defense has been great, but his BA is in the tank. I'd say he's pretty average.

Raph Rhymes has gotten on base 45 times. JaCoby Jones has gotten on base 40 times. Let's put this in perspective -- as long as Jones is getting on base at nearly the same rate as one of our best hitters, he is no danger of going to the bench. Jones is getting on base, fielding his position well, and has as many stolen based as the #2 and #3 players on the team combined.
Jones is doing just fine. I'd like more hits, but he's making good contact and the hits will come if he keeps this approach at the plate. He's still helping the team by getting on and wreaking havoc on the basepaths.

At what point in time do you sit a guy for a game or two to let him clear his head
Why does he have to sit a game or two in order to clear his head? Why can't he do it on his own time? And how does one "clear his head"? Is there some sort of button you push? Like "ctrl alt del"? Or does he have to sit in the middle of his living room at home in a yoga like position and meditate in order to "clear his head"? What does this mean? People make up the weirdest shite.

So you want to take the guy out because he has a low batting average? I'll admit that stats can be misleading but anybody that has watched this year knows this doesn't pass the eye test.
