LSU didn't have a coaching search. They had one target. It was either Fisher or Miles. The f'up was someone (or several someones) telling the press three weeks before the end of the season that LSU was essentially looking to replace Miles. They exacerbated the problem when no one from LSU said anything about the status of their HC amidst wild speculation. Then, after everyone including Miles, went in thinking the A&M game was his last game, LSU decides they can't get Fisher and then tries to come out and act like they were never looking to replace Miles in the first place. Following that, the President of the university basically admits they wanted to fire Miles, but that the money issue was the only thing prohibiting them from doing so.


The OP also must have failed to read into the Tuberville/Petrino mess 12 years ago when Auburn tried to do the EXACT same thing. The only difference is that Auburn was able to keep the coup quiet much longer than LSU
