Thanks for the clarification, but, my complain was certainly not directed solely at you. There are a handful of other Rant regulars who have questioned Coach Miles's character. They think he's not doing well enough at head coaching, which is a legit opinion, but, along with that, they want to say that he lacks integrity, which is wrong and unnecessarily insulting.

Which is why you talk about how shitty a coach he is.

You are also confusing a financial decision with a political decision which is lame.

Honestly, would you pay higher TAF fees and ticket prices than you already do today for what is in the best case scenario, a marginal improvement?

I agree. I am not a miles supporter as a head coach but I don't think jimbo is worth that pay he wanted. Hell best case for me was the Houston coach with the buyout looming over us.

Our fan base was already split over CLM. Now we all realize that the larger issue stems from the LSU admin and its lack of commitment to competing for and winning National Championships yearly. And it appears that the fan base is, some what, split again over that notion. None of it really matters at this point. LSU has chosen not to follow the bama's and the Michigans of the world. Instead LSU will aim for mediocrity and if it falls short of that so be it. LSU is sinking and its best shot, believe it or not, is the guy many want gone, Les Miles. Now he has to do it as damaged goods thanks to this debacle. And if he mails it in next year, if the class of 2017 is non existent, LSU will find itself near the bottom of the West for a very long time. He would have to win the SEC at least to keep LSU from its impending slide into the doldrums. (AT least temporarily or until F King Alexander can be made gone) In the SEC, its keep up or get left behind and LSU clearly is not concerned with keeping up.

The line between a what we are then and what we've been the last 3 years is actually really thick. Out of curiosity, how old are you?

So LSU kept a coach that another school tried to hire multiple times.LSU is dumb for keeping coach. But you want us to be like Michigan who tried to hire our coach?

WTF are you trying to say???

I agree with one aspect of the original post. If the recent debacle undermines Miles' ability to assemble top 10 classes, then the program will be in trouble.

Did we have recruiting like this in the 90s?

2012 . . 14
2013 . . . 6
2014 . . . 2
2015 . . . 5 . (Huge O-Line Haul Last Year
2016 . . . 2 . (Strong Potential for Huge D-Line and LB Haul This Year)

Saban had two consecutive Top 5 Classes: 2003 (#3) and 2004 (#5).

Miles tied that with two consecutive Top 5 Classes: 2014 (#2) and 2015 (#5).

2016 could be the first time that LSU has had three consecutive Top 5 Classes: 2014 (#2) and 2015 (#5) and 2016 (#2), and 2016 could be a #1 class.

37-14 since 2011 (20-12 in SEC). Second-most total wins and second-most conference wins of any team in the SEC during that time. I'd say we're "keeping up" OK.

And these are Miles's down years.

It's equally as delusional as saying the program is in the same state it was in the 90s.

Wow and we had a chance to bring in a good coach to lead that talent. Instead we will underperform then bring in less talent and do worse.... then bring in a new coach!

To the guy who thinks it's the nineties all over again you really should take the meds your psychiatrist prescribe for you because that's what keeps you thinking clearly and in the real world.

We had 7 seasons in the 90's with a losing record. While I was hoping for a fresh start with a new coach, you have to be off a bit to think we wouldn't fire Les with 1 losing season. Or you are just really off if you think we will have 7 losing seasons in the next 10 years.
Literally laughing out loud thinking that you "realized" that 3 winning season in the next 10 years is our future.
