I definitely think this is part of the problem. "Defenders" always try to justify the losses. "We used to suck, we should be grateful, weird shite happens to everybody, awesome career record, first class guy, the team's young, could you do better?" It's the broken record of excuses.

OK guys, saban lost every year here. You expect him to.never lose? He can't do that at bama. The guy used us. He is never coming back. Get over.it.

You'll notice half this board is ok being second best as long as you win 10 games a year even though 5 of those are cupcakes

And the other half think LSU should NEVER lose.

It's not about losing, it's about the fundamentals.

I expect LSU's HC to know what down it is, to not try and call a timeout after an INT, to have special teams ready for a FG, to not let the clock run down, to know what you're going to do on 4th if you don't make it on 3rd.

Basic stuff, bro.

It's not that simple, and you know it.

our sunshiner pumpers that are ok with eat mor chikan bowls every year have a few basic problems.

1. they are mostly older so they believe 10 wins is a great accomplishment because it was in their day. However the schedule has now expanded and we dont play nearly as tough of ooc as before. 9 and 10 win seasons aren't the same as they use to mean.

2. I agree they have some belief that just because bama had the bear and we couldn't beat him back in the day we should just go ahead and roll over and accept that fate.

3. unlike bama and uf fans that see titles as the goal and the only acceptable solution they believe being in the hunt is the way to go. Bama and UF replace coaches much quicker than we do. It lead partly to bamas dry spell in the late 90s and until saban but now look how it worked out.

I understand losses will happen and even upsets will happen but having clock management issues over and over again and having the team come out unprepared isn't something we have to live with.

IMO we need a shake up. fire chavis, stud and ensminger. when we bring in our new dc who should be a young up and coming fire breathing dc we let him decide on brick and raymond. the dc should be in control of our hires on that side with some guidelines laid down by miles.

then we allow cam to pick a new ol line coach and new tight end coach, id prefer one good recruiter if not both being good at recruiting. maybe a young guy and then a older vet.

This gives us some new blood in the program and we might be able to right the ship. if that doesn't work then the heat has to go up on the head man

If you just stop comparing Miles (or any other coach) to Saban

But the point is, we bring in as much, if not more talent than Bama every year, yet you don't see them struggling to win a game against a lesser opponent. I know Miles isn't going anywhere, but will be interesting to see how we do against A&M & Bama, since we have the extra week to prepare for them...

We are a middle of the pack team under Les Miles. Consistently talented, but painfully underachieving. It isn't about comparing him to other coaches. 10 wins is nice but he's making 4 million dollars a year to putz around and lose games to guys that were coaching in high school 3 years ago.

Just had one of those light bulb moments courtesy of the SEC Rant. Les is the new Phil Fulmer.

the defense has been terrible this year but that's not even the problem in my opinion.

it's the way we lose with the same crappy situations, terrible play calling, terrible clock mangement, etc.

it's a Miles problem. the sooner we realize that, the better for the program.

Why do people assume we are so talented? We are not. Mett is okay, the defense is not. Small as ends and weak as shite Linebackers.

In a way.
UF just manhandled us in the 2nd half. Isn't it correct that they didn't pass once in the 2nd half.

Why do people refuse to see this as a problem?

Because we used to suck 15 years ago and now we suck less so we should just be thankful, or something stupid like that.
