Coach O says, "LSU doesn't have a fullback in the I. That's why they're practicing with the TEs. It's an H-back role."

A real change maybe not in philosophy, but a true multiple offense that's undpredictable.

Also Voorhies officially an OLB

Divinity will be OLB

And Ed Paris is now permanently at Safety. Looks more natural and comfortable.

I wonder what this does for JD Moore?

You mean Divinity moving to ILB. Huge move that makes sense. No reason to waste divinity at F linebacker when the two inside spots are thin

Something doesn't compute here?

I have always been a fan of the H-Back scheme and the multiple looks and options it gives you. But I will always want LSU to have a I formation package. Sometimes you just have to lineup and hammer someone.

JD Moore will play FB in the I formation. He excels there and with Guice running behind them, that can be 8 ypc. That part of the offense won't go away any time soon. I'm all for it, by the way. It just doesn't need to dominate.

1. You can be multiple from the I formation.

2. Coach O said they aren't practicing they I formation because they know it already. Never said they aren't going to use it.

true, after the Les era and 3 years of #7 off tackle, I think these boys have the I formation committed to memory

I presume it makes him an H-Back. We tried to throw it to him all the time anyway, so I presume that will be a fairly natural role for him.

Typical response from a dumb arse who doesn't know the game.
What do you want LSU to be like the Houston Oilers under Jerry Glanville and use the run and shoot?

I want a balance where the defense never knows what you will do but this is football and their will always be times in a game where you need to be able to get a yard or run the clock out.

Take anything a coach says with a grain of salt. I'm not saying he's not being 100% forthcoming, and I see where others have contended the remark was taken out of context.

All I'm saying is that when coaches talk about what they intend to do in games, it's rare that they say anything that could potentially be of benefit to an opponent in their gameplanning.
