til 4 or 5 games into the season.

you still don't know how good or bad any of those teams were last nite.

gotta hurt for SC & Vandy to get thumped that badly, though.

SC could recover. long year for vandy.

Do you realize you just contradicted yourself?

Not really, though. He said SC could recover, which supports his point. A long year for Vandy could be a contradiction, but I took it as Vandy has an uphill battle EVERY year, and this just made it worse.

The Vandy comment is what I was referring to. How is it going to be a "Long Year" if they wont know what they have for another 3-4 games?

I think what he meant was, "you don't know what you have until week 3-4"... Unless you get thumped by temple. In that scenario, you're fricked

hahaha, but this is also why preseason polls are pointless, beside venues being able to exploit sponsors and fans by basically having Bowl Games to start the season.

WAIT! What if by week 5 we realize Temple may run the table and make it into the playoff?!?!?

was really referring to ole miss moreso than vandy, even though I didn't mention them by name. what do you know about ole miss after last nite? and vandy is vandy.

take lsu - what have we got? Miles is not known as an offensive mastermind, and so when the defense has question marks we don't get respect.

on the other hand, sumlin is an offensive guru, so everyone expects them to score. STill, SC was surprisingly bad, so is the Aggie offense that good? Probably not. but we don't know yet.

SC had a new scheme and lost their stars on defense. they were lost out there. on the other hand, we've got our defensive qb and a lot of returning guys, so we won't be lost.

I can't wait to find out. countdown is on.

Agree. I think the preseason polls are pointless too, but how excited would everyone be for an unranked LSU vs an unranked Wisky to start the season?!?

Thats all it is. These big season openers are scheduled a year or more in advance, think that has anything to do with pre season rankings?

Doesn't need recognition, just hire the right OC.
Miles is more of a mastermind than you think.

Sometimes not even then. Look at Auburn last year, week 4 was their loss in Death Valley. They didn't really get going until week 8, when they won at aTm.
