It's becoming clear Trent Johnson is not the man for the job

Lose Derenbrecker, don't get Gathers or Felix. O'Bryant is a one or two year guy and admitted the same. The wheels are coming off. The program has no momentum and Johnson seems to have no relationships with high school or aau coaches in Louisiana.

I'd take Pearl in a heartbeat to resurrect the program. I honestly don't know if anyone else could do it as fast as I know he could right now.

all I'm going to say is:
Johnny Jones has built a winning program at NORTH TEXAS
eta: I think it's clear he's not the man for the job and FWIW I supported CLM after OM 2009. I just have no belief in TJ anymore

Not the best plan IMO, considering we are currently serving a one-year probation because of the last over-zealous rule-challenged coach we had.
Pearl would raise a red flag we don't need, and we still got the Lyle investigation going on as we speak.
