Why would anyone care about a poll for the next year the day after the season ends? We don’t even have a DC yet and we just went 5-5. We’re in the SEC, if we win we’re in no matter what a silly January poll says.

II agree with you 100%. And I bet most ULL fans do to. But, an increasing number of “Louisiana” fans believe themselves to be in direct competition with LSU.
One of my kids currently goes to ULL and my butt has been in the stands several times cheering on the Cajuns. I am trying very hard to keep out hard feelings for a fine university due to a small but vocal minority of LSU Haters.

Same. Love UL a lot even though I went to LSU. Always cheer for them when they're not facing the Tigers. But the constant whining about LSU by a vocal minority of fans annoys the crap out of me, as does the serious ish-talking they do about other Louisiana schools. You hear them talking trash about Tech and ULM and Tulane all the time when that's exactly what they complain LSU fans do to them.

Literally the exact same with me. Loved LSU to death growing up and went to UL. Now I Pull for them both. There’s just a lot of insecure LSU fans in here. The Cajuns aren’t a threat to the Louisiana throne. And the whole UL fans pull for Alabama thing is a stupid myth

Those "way too early" type things ESPN puts out are the equivalent of a nonsense offseason thread on TD. It is a space filler. That likely won't be the case come August.
