It's 3rd and 14 and the defense needs a stop. Rush 3 or bring the house?

How many first downs did we give up on 3rd and long last weekend by rushing 3 and dropping 8?
White made a great play at the end of the game last weekend, but man, I hate giving up 3rd and long yardage when we rush 3, get zero pressure, and the QB has all day to throw.

I don't get why you don't blitz on 3rd and long. Force a bad throw, or force a quick throw.

Right now our DL is not getting a great pass rush. Need Key back to form. Absent that you have to send at least one more........

If you trust your secondary to tackle you should rush 7. If you don't you drop 7 or 8 in coverage.

Bring at least 5 there. Fake 7 and make them guess who’s coming and who’s not. Yea we have given up many a 3rd and long due to a calm, unmolested quarterback picking his target.

K Lavon and Key need to be in, and rush at least 5. Don't play that bullshite 5 yd cushion on the receivers either.

I especially don't like it when 2 of those 3 are Lacouture, Gilmore, or Lawrence. Almost no pass rush outside of Key. I think Aranda was worried about giving up a 3rd down to Frank's running. He was confident he couldn't make the pass no matter how much time he had.

EXACTLY, don't give them time for the routes to develop! Make the qb get rid of the ball or take the sack. Drove me crazy watching Franks sit back there all day and throw (and convert)on a few 3d and longs this past Sat.

Play nickel and blitz the LBs from various angles. Why we don't do this 90% of the time... I don't get it.

We adampted by bringing Donte Jackson to the LOS. That's seemed to work well at the end of the game and bears repeating.
