Isn't this what fans wanted Miles to do?

Hire a top notch OC, don't mess with offense and just focus on recruiting. Why can't Orgeron do this instead of hiring a new HC? I am not saying LSU should hire Orgeron, I am asking what would a coach like Herman brings to the table given the fact that Orgeron is an excellent recruiter.

Because he didn't want to change his offense.

All of this knighting for Orgeron is starting to become a bit concerning.

As someone said in another thread - LSU doesn't need to be hiring a coach that no one but LSU will want.

If Orgeron does something magical with this talent, then I'm in.

Just a thought, but does anyone see Frank Wilson ever coming back to LSU after some years at UTSA?

Ed O is growing on me the more I listen to him. I think he learned a lot from the head positions at Ole Miss and USC. I think he is an older, wiser coach now who has learned how to delegate to his coaches. There is a part of me that believes it is simply destiny that Orgeron takes over the reins and does great things at LSU. It is impossible to dislike the guy.

Million $ ? ... Absolutely baffles me and many others.. Could've won several more titles and went out as the 3rd best coach in the modern era arguably..

If we somehow beat Bama and win the SEC, I'm all in for the Ogre. He'll deserve it.

If Coach O turns this season around I'd be all for him becoming the head coach. If you think Miles had a clamp on Louisiana recruiting imagine what coach O would do. A fiery native of Louisiana who probably has amazing relationships with every hs coach in the state.

So Alleva was to blame for Miles not making proper changes to his offensive philosophy?

Sure.

Even if he turns it around he should get a HC job at another school. No disrespect to Coach O, but Herman is a once in a generation coach. He will be the next Meyer/Saban caliber coach. Even with recruiting Herman can stay on Coach O's level. The man is recruiting nearly half his starters from within a 25 mile radius of UH. If you can get Herman you get him, period. Coach O has to know that.

He also has to know he isn't just interviewing for the LSU job, but likely a few others at the end of the season. He will be fine even if LSU doesn't end up with him. LSU just needs to be certain of their choice if they pass on him, assuming he turns the program around for the rest of the season.

Um no. Miles did miles in.

And about O. I'm fine if the first 6 coaches turn us down. But you don't fire a coach and pay out a 13m buyout, then turn around and hire your dline coach. We need a homerun hire.

It's Alleva's fault that Les didn't update the offense, and it's Alleva's fault that Les petitioned to bring Cam back as OC? Hmmmmm... i would like you to expand on this idea.
