Verne is getting a little confused at times, but he's a lot better than many. I woukdn't mind if he retired as long as they find someone good to replace him.
Danielson is awesome. Dude is very knowledgeable and he's very emotionally "into" the game.

He makes some mistakes... but that really isn't a big deal.
Despite minor informational mistakes, he's still good at what he does and calls a game well.

Is this the first LSU game you've ever watched on TV? They do most of the LSU games. And yes, Verne is horrible. They put Danielson with him to combat all the stupid shite Verne says.
Danielson had a brain freeze with the "win after a loss" comment but usually he's pretty solid.

I just don't understand why he is still calling games.. Surely CBS realizes that everyone hates them..

I'm happy as hell to be able to watch the games on tv. I don't care who announces or how awful they are. Fan base is really spoiled when it whines about the announcers, and it happens every game no matter who it is.

Verne is definitely declining. He's only got a couple of moves now: exclaiming "gracious!" or something similar for a display of power, getting excited on a big play in the making, or rolling a stream of consciousness while..slowing.....down......to.........kill........time and wait for action to resume.
i don't hate the guy, but i think the verne/gary pairing is no where near as good as the nesler/blackledge team.

Same here. Being in Colorado, it's great to be able to see all of the games on TV. Mussburger is about the only one that makes me think about hitting the mute button.
