of is Jennings to presumptive starter and overwhelming favorite to remain in that position?

In other words, are they both beginning spring on equal footing or is there a large barrier for Harris to overcome to end the spring and enter the summer as the starter?

I actually think Harris is going in with the advantage. Just a feeling I got from the way Les Miles discussed the quarterbacks; he had a lot more to say about Harris and what he can do. I also think Harris seeing the field will have a direct correlation with Miles' job security.

This thread will not end well.

The correct answer is that Harris will be given a legitimate chance, but it will be harder for him to take the job than for Jennings to keep it.

I agree with you. To that end, I think it can be argued that even if he is somewhat turnover prone, his upside is so far and away better than Jennings, that he is worth the gamble.

I think we have seen about what Jennings is capable of being...he is just limited.

If you call what we have every year a QB competition, then I'm going to tell you that WWE Wrestling is real.

I believe the coaches want Harris to win the job outright in the spring. This may provide him a slight edge but he's still going to have to make it clear he's the one to lead this team in 2015.

If you've paid ANY attention at all recently you'd be aware that another qb disaster similar to 2014 and there's a decent chance Miles is out the door.

Harris will be given every opportunity to earn the job. It's up to him to do it.

I usually have no inside connections; however, on this issue, I have pretty good reason to believe that Harris has the inside track.

Someone supposedly with connections to the players has said Harris has made the committment the coaches wanted from him and that he "has taken the reigns". If it's true or not who knows?

This is a certainty. Jennings just has to keep working as hard as he does. Harris has to work as hard as Jennings does. If Harris puts in the time, the Spring game parity is going to be obvious. Jennings simply doesn't have the ability to do what a devoted Harris is capable of.

Dumb question perhaps, but do we really want a QB who has to be disciplined and begged to try hard? (Obviously, he's the more talented skill-wise).

We start with McNeese, then jump right into it...I am scared to death that the early SEC games will have Miles manage the QBs more conservatively than even he may like.

That only means one thing, we will throw it 15 times a game for 65 yards. And we may very well be 1-2 going up to Syracuse.

Not a dumb question. Truth is in many cases the young bucks in High School have been able to cruise on their ability alone and not have to put in the work. However, at the college level, many of the guys on the roster were the "stud" at their position in HS and what separates them from the pack at the college level is not merely their talent but their hard work.

This is in my opinion one of the most important lessons for any incoming freshman. One that Harris apparently did not have the luxury of time to learn.

Put down the pipe! Les could go 6-6 in the regular season and still be safe at LSU.

If you don't know that, you haven't been paying attention for ten years or you are just delusional.
