Answer to OP is no. I was just telling a friend that I have a hierarchy of NFL teams (Saints atop) so that if one fails, I can cheer for my "lesser" teams. In college, it's LSU or I don't give a frick. Unless doing so benefits LSU. I sometimes cheer for my Alma Mater in Hockey, Lacrosse, Polo, and Wrestling, but that's only because LSU doesn't do shite in those sports.

There are plenty of fans like me that grew up around Baton Rouge with LSU in their blood and then enrolled at another university. We have LSU as our true team and casually pull for our alma mater.

Every year, there is a team that I don't mind watching for some reason, but no, I don't pull for any other teams. I guess if the Tigers needed help like in '07 to get to the NC game, I would hope or "pull" for another team to get LSU in.

depending on the reason you went to another university besides LSU, i'd say you're not a true LSU fan.

Texas, my dad went there and I live in Austin. Grew up watching LSU in Baton Rouge, even though they were awful, I still loved them and always will. ha, Todd Kinchen and Eddie Kennison are the only good players I remember from my childhood.

I'd say you are wrong regardless. I justified being an LSU fan with the same reasons why people are true fans of professional teams. I didn't let sports decide where I went to undergrad.
And I'm an LSU student now.
