Is the new DC the biggest concern?

I say yes. I think this team has the talent to make a run for the SEC championship but the defense has to gel a little too fast for my liking with MSU and AU so early in the schedule.

I still think it has to be QB. I know the back up is starting like everyone has wanted since the beginning of LSU football but til Harris does it in a game on a big setting that will still be the concern.

They're always early.

Id rather the D get tested early and be able to adjust, instead of getting exposed late.

My worries (in order):

1. Linebacker depth
2. QB play
3. DE depth
4. WR play
5. New DC
6. DT depth
7. ST consistency

Areas I have no concern over:
1. RBs
2. OL
3. DBs

If Cameron/Miles can't figure out the QB situation, does the DC really matter? We had statistically the number one D last year in the SEC, and what did that get us? 5 losses because we couldn't establish an effective offense.

Right. But the defense struggled early against MSU and AU until they got things figured out

While that's true it doesn't mean we won't make some personnel adjustments that make a big difference in season this season either

For me the new DC is the biggest question mark we have going into this season.

Unfortunately sub par QB performance has been the rule rather than the exception and we've been able to lean on a good rushing game and defense that wouldn't let the other team run away with the game (most of the time).

1. QB play
2. LB depth
3. DE play/depth
4. New DC
5. DT depth/rotation
6. Play calling
7. Kicker

I say QB over the LB and DL issues (and Steele unknowns) because the defense will need to be lights out if we produce points like last year. Smaller margin for error.

yeah it's a concern but I won't judge him based on the first few games. I want to have hope for this season but 2016 is going to be our year.

4. WR play

we have a ton depth at WR, we should be more concerned about the guy throwing it to our WR than our WR making plays. I think it's obvious we will have good play from our WR.

we got 4 freshman who should make big slapshes this year, and we are returning alot of them from last year. We have a ton of skill at the skill positions this year, and on the O-Line, the offensive success will come down to can the QB keep the D honest.

Edit: WRs this year, in no particular order

Dural JR.
Dupre So.
Diarse So.
Quinn So.
Brandon Martin Fr.
Tyron Johnson Fr.
Derek Dillan Fr.
Jazz Ferguson Fr.

I think we have at-least two others but I don't think they get playing time, but we are at-least 5+ deep at WR. at-least 2 high level receivers.

And I'd say no. QB is. We get decent QB play for a change, and the sky is the limit for this team.

But if we get gashed like we did against AU and MSU last year good QB play might not even matter

The same can be said for QB play. DT and LB depth (especially LB depth) are big concerns over the course of the season.

I'm confident the passing game will be better this season. Last year we had inexperienced QB and WR's. Coach Ball, experience at the receiver position and Harris will lead the offense to light up some defenses this year.
