I agree with you but I think a huge reason for that has been the early departures over the last few years really catching up. A lot of 4th year juniors and would be seniors could still be on the team while the younger guys who are playing a lot would have had more time to develop.

Les has always done this kind of stuff. It would be infuriating if we all still cared as much as we did 10 years ago.

We have an offense that can barely execute a pass play, and people blame Chavis for our season. Blows my mind.

W in the actual F?

The threads blasting the offense continue to be posted on an hourly basis 24/7, and deservedly so. But it's not like the defense, despite some great stats and rankings, didn't have some huge problems.

If you haven't seen a drop off in our defense since 2012, you are blind.

In the last four games of 2012 our pass defense averaged giving up 325 yard a game. Against both Alabama and Clemson in 2012 we watched those two teams drive the ball down our throat in the last minute of games to win after we had the lead. Same thing happened this year in the Alabama and bowl game.

That doesn't excuse the shitty offense, but people appear to have ignored the defense lapse way too long.

Nope. Les has to own it. He has shite the bed repeatedly these last several years.

But I'm not broken up about losing Chavis either. He was solid and generally reliable, except those lots of times he wasn't. We have not been an aggressive defense of late, and we've been downright bad when we didn't have All Americans roving the field.

Chavis can suck it. That doesn't mean I make excuses for Les.

The excuses will be well rehearsed by next season, but it still falls flat in Miles lap.

Exactly. We used to jump up and down over this kind of goofy coaching. Not anymore. We've seen it for ten years and we are just numb to it.

It's a pretty obvious defense mechanism. I just can't see how one thinks Miles is the greatest coach ever and think Chavis was terrible at the same time.

We didn't win a national title in 2013 because of Chavis

I don't think anyone is pinning all the shittiness of Chavis

but Chavis and the defense were definitely a part of the shittiness this year

that much is obvious

You think this thread is accurate?

Are you really of the opinion there hasn't been enough criticism and blame thrown at Miles on this board?

Meh, everyone is a little butthurt that he left us. But, really he did what is best for himself. It wouldn't surprise me if Sumlin was out at A&M before Miles though. Chief was a great coach while he was here. Wish him the best.

No reason to wish him the best. Thanks for his time here but look forward to him failing at a rival

The smallest part of the shittiness y far though and everyone with a brain knows it. I'd say he deserves about 15%-20% of the blame for the state of the program right now. We all know the real problem is the QB. And that's not changing until MIles leaves.

My only problem with Chief is that he should have shown some integrity and stepped down prior to the Notre Dame game.

His heart just wasn't in it!

I think the criticism miles receives is deserved. He is the head coach. He gets the praise when we win and should get the criticism when we lose.

I think some of the criticism Chavis has received is unfair. The last minute scoring drives his defense has allowed isn't always fair. In most cases our offense should have received as much if not more criticism in those losses. Getting a first down, scoring a TD, putting the game out of reach instead of keeping the score close, etc.

If chavis saved Les, then he deserves Blame for any shitty defensive performance. Including 4 of the 5 losses this year where the d shat the bed. Costing us a title in 12 with the bama loss.

Either Miles is responsible for the defense or he relinquished it all to Chavis. You can't have it both ways and blame Les for starting welter but give chavis a pass.
