Really? You folks seriously amaze me, holy shite if Les isn't God-esque in that he can do no wrong.

I can see the excuses now "just wait till Coach XYZ gets his system and players in place...we'll be whipping arse come 2017!"

to be fair we have known for a while chavis was an issue, and have been vocal about it for a while now. Him leaving doesn't give him a pass to not get called out.

No one gets a raise at 8-5.

They all pulled their share of shittyness this year and last.

We have an offense that can barely execute a pass play, and people blame Chavis for our season. Blows my mind.

I'm not talking about raises and how shitty he may have handled it, I'm talking about how the general discussion on Chief has now swung to "well he's a shitty coach and the reason we lost!"

Please send a link to a thread where a single person placed all of the blame on Chavis. Obviously the program has more than a few issues right now but our defensive talent is a freak show to say the least (specifically the DB's) and he blew 2 or 3 games a year for the past 3 years on giving up huge chunks of passing yards.

Look at our defensive stats from 09-14 and then look at the roster year by year. His defenses were outstanding when he had mathieu, Peterson, Claiborne, and coleman shutting down opponents but they were pretty sub par at times when he wasn't blessed with a full squad of future NFL stars.

Most people on this forum can identify that the mark of a truly outstanding coordinator is the ability to turn below average talent into a great defense and he never did that at his tenure at LSU. All it would've taken last year for us to win a national championship was a solid defense and he chose to leave welter in all season a la Jennings playing over Harris and blow it. The consensus is that he's good but by no means irreplaceable and that it's not hard for most coordinators to look good given the talent he's had at tennessee and LSU for his entire career.

You're stupid to think the board isn't pissed at Miles.

But whether you believe it or not, Chavis was kinda on the decline as well. Of course we'd love to keep him, but he's replaceable. He needs elite talent to be successful, look at last season with the inexperience just how awful we were defensively with a great offense.

He did let us down in the biggest games as well with play calling.

So it could be our benefit to shake things up.. Hopefully we get a guy who can coach and recruit a little better or with more fire.

Chavis was awesome. Y'all are just in denial, butt hurt, stupid, you have an agenda, or a combination of the four.

He is most definitely the reason we lost against ND. 439 yards and 28 points should be enough to get the job done with the "#1 ranked SEC defense". Guy, their first drive took up 8 got damn minutes and 15 plays. How the hell can you blame the offense?

Oh I know how, since their hasn't been a bash Miles and Cam thread in a few hours, you thought you'd start one? Diverting the attention from that fat bastard who skated out of here like a thief in the night fricking over and lying to recruits, his players, and his assistant coaches.

He is the main reason we aren't SEC West Champs in 2012. One stop would have put that game against Bama away. Could have prevented a NC for Bama.

I appreciate him for keeping our defense elite for the most part and really becoming the crutch that the offense and Miles leaned on for years, but the bitch move he did at the end stains the legacy.

I blame whoever decided to give Fournette only 11 touches in a game that he was dominating.

I was at the game and had to listen to a ND fan repeatedly thank Les for not giving the ball to #7.

Meanwhile, another freshman RB named Chubb was having a great day as well. Richt fed him 35 times.

But Chavis is a convenient bogeyman now because a lot of LSU posters feel like a jilted wife whose husband just left them.

Rush 4, complete pass over the middle.

I don't give a frick if we get burned every so often.... BLITZ! At least we know you tried.

The majority of the board decides to turn a blind eye to the the fact that LSU had the #1 SEC defense also.

LSU's ability to run the ball and eat up time has as much to do with the defensive stats as defensive schemes and players.

We did not have a very good defense this year. Who gives a shite what the stats show!? Our defense was mauled by Miss State, Auburn and Notre Dame. They couldn't protect the lead against Bama, either. The defense was primarily responsible for four of our five losses this year.

By the middle of the year the defense was solid, but the first half of the year it was ghastly.

The reason our stats show the #1 defense is because our offense eats clock.

Say what?
There are no Honey Badgers or PP7s on this defense.
I was lukewarm on Chavis too, but I think part of the problem with the defense is that we don't actually have the talent there that we once did.

Exactly.

How many all-SEC players were on our defense this year?
