Is our zone read even a zone read?

Every time we ran the zone read Jennings just ran it. What the hell type of play is that if it's designed to just run up the middle?

QB Power Read is what we run. It has to be predetermined prior to the snap.

Zone read is what MSU gashed us with.

There weren't credible fakes to the RB. Cam is supposed to be big on realistic fakes on play action. They better seriously work on that.

I am not sure if it's his coaching, but Jennings doesn't handoff or pitch much at all. On the 4th down inside the 5, the pitch to Fournette was wide open for a TD

Come to think of it we used that play with Jefferson a few times. (UT in '10, Arky in '11). Yet another Miles play that seems to keep coming back despite 3 different OC's in that time span.

I think Jennings is terrified that he'll turn it over if he doesn't hold on to it.

Failure to sell fakes is so freakin lazy and worthless. It seems to often be one of the key marks of good vs bad QB play.

Jennings is too slow to be an option QB. He is a mobile pocket passer.

It's another reason why I changed my tune four games in. If this staff wants to run the QB 6-7 times a game on predetermined plays, then why not the faster and more elusive one?

its definitely predetermined or jennings is just terrible at it. theres times where if he handed it off, there was plenty yards to gain but he got stuffed. and vice versa.
